I'm a little confused on the bacon part. Could you please clarify?

So you par-cook the bacon to release the bacon fat, which would be liquid in the pan at that point; then you said: "Then pour pork or bacon and oil over beans and other ingredients"

Does this mean put the par-cooked bacon on top of the ingredients already in the slow cooker & dump in the bacon grease/drippings from the pan as well? If this is correct, do you cut the bacon up into pieces or put it in as full strips?

A package of bacon is 12 or 13 ounces so you half it - 6 ounces ?

You pour all the fat and bacon pieces back in. Cut bacon small.

It’s a very fatty meal but it’s really good.
It’s my husbands recipe. He’s cooking it.
I’m just a helping participant

I’m going to be making Boston baked beans in a few days , which is a far healthier recipe.

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I'm good with the fatty beans, lol.

It’s a very tasty recipe. It’s like very old fashioned baked beans. Besides it being very flavourful, it’s also easy on the digestive system. There’s no gas. Then again, we soaked the beans overnight and cooked them 8 to 10 hours. I’m sure you’ll like them.

You could probably substitute seasoned pork for the bacon. I like experimenting.
