What have you bought recently?

With the cost of living going up, I revised my ‘fluff’ spending budget to $30 a month. It does make me stop and think if my purchase would cut into my budget. It’s just a mental game I’m playing with myself. The money isn’t a problem. I like a challenge. So far, I’ve spent $3.25.

I could add $12 to my spending. Since it was a shirt I bought for my husband, I decided this doesn’t count.

No matter what pens I've used in this lifetime, including a set of gold cross pens that I was gifted back in the 70s, I always revert to the pens I used in high school: Bic Cristals, medium point, blue ink or black. I keep at least a dozen on hand - when one starts skipping I toss it and move to the next.

amusing that you bought pens.. because I did the same thing yesterday.... :D

I spent. A lot. But it's because when I buy gift cards for the garden center, I get extra fuel points on Fridays. I got one for Home Depot for $100. Yup. Just spent with abandon. It'll come in real handy in a few weeks when the bedding plants are available.

That $100 got me 400 fuel points, which translates to $.40/gallon off. Already had 200 points. So DS/DSIL are going to fill their tank up here for $.60/gallon off. Gas in our neighborhood is about $.30/gallon cheaper than where they live in a pricey area of the city.

What it all boils down to is that now I'm thisclosetobeingbrokeuntilnextpayday. Oh, well, nothing I need or want anyway.

Bandaids. We needed a specific style and size. None to be found in regular drug stores. Found a Medical Supplies store that sells them individually and they were less expensive than the smaller sizes in regular stores. These stores basically sell things like walkers, etc. We’d never thought of going there for anything. There’s more than we expected.

why do you need specific sizes ?.. can't you cut normal ones to the sizes you need ?.. don't answer if you don't want to... pleased you found a supplier

I bought two tee-shirts today. One is tie dye to go with jeans and the other is a white v-neck which will go with everything - you can never have too many white tee-shirts. So, now I am summer ready - where's the sun! ☀️🌻⛱️ 😎
Ditto..on the white Tee. ( M&S). except mine has long sleeves ..M&S has a sale on so today, I got a beige Cotton and merino wool Polo neck sleeveless tunic top... the aforesaid T-shirt.. an Emerald green wool scarf, and a Cream, with pale green horizontal stripes, Collared V neck jumper.. grand total £33.....

A pair of Allbirds wool running shoes. It’s so rare to find my size and this brand gets great reviews. The price of $50 was excellent too. I was examining my present pairs and they‘re getting worn on the inside.

Now I have to decide if this counts against my budget and I failed or if these are necessary. I’m think I’m going to vote for the latter.

Yes, I had to go there for larger sizes that had adhesive all the way around. My husband had many surgeries that had to be changed daily for wound care.

I bought a few new spring blouses- I make sure before I buy clothes, that I have a bag of clean donated clothes for the clothing drive.
And I bought an extra pair of white slacks because I love to wear white when the temps are hot.

I like to buy at amazon, but I ALWAYS look for sales. I need a larger coffee bean grinder- so will check them out at amazon later.

I have a small one. It grinds two cups of delicious coffee, at a time but ,in spring/summer I get more company and most want coffee instead of tea.

I buy a lot of things I need at the Goodwill or Salvation Army. They sell a lot of perfectly good stuff that is lightly used or brand new.

I bought a Bissell Pro Clean Steamer mop a few months ago, mostly because it has attachments for shower cleaning and I really hate cleaning soap scum from the shower. Was hoping a steamer would help. I have not used it on the shower yet. My plan is to spray walls with vinegar & water, let sit for 10 minutes, then steam it off.

I placed a Walmart pickup order for few groceries including decaf Constant Comment tea - a favorite from long ago that I'd forgotten about. Also those magic eraser thingies for Roomba's metal contacts.

I needed to buy a minimum of $35 worth to get free shipping on a pound of black cumin seeds (aka nigella sativa) that I included in this order, but was only at $33. Guess what I found on sale for $1.88? Couldn't help myself.
