    Volunteers

I didn't plant these sunflowers. They are volunteers from probably birds picking up the seeds and putting them in my planter.

They just bloomed but haven't fully ripened. I'm going to leave them. They are huge.

That sunflower is beautiful. It looks nice against the foliage you have in the background. I grew a few a couple of years ago and took a similar photo with the bee doing its thing. There are so many varieties of sunflowers. Some are almost all center with little short petals. We have a roadside stand that sells them cut. They cost a small fortune. Who would have thought they would be selling sunflowers to put in a vase. My Grandparents would have laughed at that.

Next year I will plant them instead of leaving it to chance.

Huge stalks. Not much care. I just watered them when it got dry.

These are bird seed sunflowers I bought from the supermarket. I have a bird feeder nearby.
