It doesn't bother me if the middle school kids come Trick or Treating....As long as I have enough candy left....

I love the little one's dressed so cute and their parents are with them....I have a lit pumpkin in the front window....

So, go sit in jail for trick or treating. That would be scary!

Exactly. Let kids be kids for as long as they can.
When we were kids we left at about 6 and came home about 9 and we went out until grade 8, meaning we were 13 years old.
We knew to come home once we got those unfriendly hints that it was too late and we were too old, but not many complained.
Halloween was one night out of the year where we could go out independently , get as much candy as we could and go back home with no questions asked. My two brothers would team up together and I usually went by myself. Sometimes I went with a neighbour. It was always super fun but I can honestly say I never did anything mischievous ....
    Ok maybe one egg

    I thought it was genius.
One of my dad's stories includes a clothesline also. Must have been a thing back in the day

I don't remember the exact details but apparently back in the 1930's some people in the small city in Clifton Texas still used outhouses. Apparently a big thing to do was to find a way to block the outhouse from the inside so the owner of the home could not enter it without taking off the door. Now that I think about it, I'm not exactly sure how they blocked a door that opened outwards. They also threw eggs at homes and the usual stuff that got passed down.

He told me of another Halloween when they had pulled off a prank (I don't remember what) and they were running off and one of his friends ran into a clothesline. It was neck level. The kid was fine but scared the heck out of him.

How about the authorities don't interfere with how I disperse my candy?
