Welcome from another dog lover although we are dog less at the moment.

I have two furbabies left. My beloved dog died last July. It will be a year this coming July 13th. Less than 8 months later...my cat starved herself to death in her grief in losing the dog. There was nothing I could do. It tore my heart up.

That leaves two dogs left. Both are doing fine I am pleased to say.

Stat has a rockin' bod, too, lol. Well..from what I saw of his pics, anyway.
He is a very nice man and his daughter is just sweet as can be. I feel I know her even though we have never met.

Wow Stat..I forgot just how old Klia is. You take such good care of her.

So..how did the tango go last night with your lady friends? Did you have lots of fun? I would love to see you at one of your clubs, lol. Take pics next time!

We went bar hopping through Cologne, but the 3rd (and best) stop was a bar known for Tangos and Foxtrots, meaning, people are expected to dance the Tango and the Foxtrot. We danced until about 4:30 am - they are allowed to stay open that late on Saturdays in this big city. And those lovely ladies did indeed drink me under the table. OY. The one I know very well now :), the other is a friend of hers, whom I have met before. The third lady was a new acquaintance and she is a massive brainiac (well, all of them are), fluent in 8 languages, been all around the world. It really was fun. Tango is hard for me, but I had to learn Foxtrot for something I once did in my profession years ago- and back then, my own sister taught it to me!

This bar was also interesting in that you don't pay cash right away for every drink. You get a plastic card on a chain (or the ladyfolk get a card on a bracelet, if they want) and when you order, the card is scanned. When you leave the bar, then you pay - or you don't get out. Most people just let the bar swipe their EC card the moment they come in, then the card you were given gets swiped, the barkeep madam tells you what the total is, it's deducted from your EC card as soon as you type in your pin, you get a receipt and bingo, done.

I have to admit, I had a great time. Don't get out much, building my business and all, but now and then, one just has to throw a little bit of caution to the wind. :)

And I am glad you still have those two pooches.

Sounds like you had a blast.

Ladies and gents...our Stat (yes, ours now cuz we here at SF own him, lol) is a wonderful opera singer. Maybe he will someday post a track so you can listen. :)

If anyone has a good idea how to get the stink out of a dog collar, let me know.

I washed it and still, it stinks. I am wondering if my pooch met up with a skunk in yonder woods.

Oy.

At least the pooch smells good now. :)

Buy the cheapest tomato juice you can find and soak the collar in it over night, (or at least 12 hours) than just wash and rinse, let it dry in the sunlight. If that doesn't do it, nuttin' will! :) Good luck to you!

Febreeze is dangerous to pets...has been known to kill some when sprayed heavily in areas where dogs lie...on rugs or sofas... They had this all over the news in Colorado about 5 or 6 months ago, or so.

Sorry - I knew that, back in the day when I was a fur mom. No news reports, just knew it was chemicals and who knew what was in the product?? So yeah. Logic would dictate.

As luck will have it, I have some Tomatensaft (Tomato Juice) in the fridge right now. I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the tip!!

Hi again, Stat!
Funny thing....many years ago, my kids' two dogs both had an encounter with a skunk. NO amount of shampoo would take away the odor...than my son said: "Mom, remember on the Partridge Family their dog got sprayed by a skunk and they gave it a bath in tomato juice??" ...and so that is what we DID and it worked!! ;) Now its an almost 'scientific fact' that it works!

The acid in the tomato juice is what cuts the odor. Same with apple cider vinegar or just plain white vinegar. You just don't want to use white vinegar ON the dog or yourself because it is too strong and potent. Apple cider vinegar is fine for skin and fur..and hair!

The funny thing is that the pooch now smells good, but the collar still stinks. Well, right now it's soaking in tomato juice!!
