Awake to see the New Year?

Yes, I'll be awake. I'm going to a gathering at the manager's office this evening for awhile and then when the people start getting on my nerves (kidding) I'll come home and watch that ball drop on tv and watch the excitement then dancing on ABC, as usual.;)⚡🌜

We are having a New Year's Eve party at my Senior apartment Community Center tonight. I think it lasts from 7PM until about 9-9:30PM ...😀
 
I like to go to bed before midnight and hear some of my neighbors get out the shotgun and fire one shot in the air. It's pretty quiet around here before and after.
 
I wasnt planning to do anything tonight just raise a glass to myself and think back over the past five years and the happy memories of years gone by.

Well...that was blasted out if the water and though I will be on my own am reeling with some unexpected news that blew me away sky-high. It was not bad news and far from it and its a family matter

Think I will fill my glass to the brim with a good stiff whisky and say up to midnight to see 2020 in. When i gain my equilibrium I may post about it.

I'll be getting a phone call wishing me a Happy New Year when the ball drops. I told my son I might be going to bed earlier this year (I have a real bad chest, throat and congestion) but he was insistent that I must stay up and bought me knishes as a temptation. He doesn't want to admit I'm getting old and tries to force me to stay young. The idea is hardly working but I love him for thinking it will.

Makes more sense for me that the ball would hit the top of the pole at midnight, so every year I'm surprised it goes the other way.
 
We'll go to bed the usual time around 11, but I'm always awake until midnight when I hear the neighbors blowing off some fireworks. I haven't regularly watched the ball drop on TV since Dick Clark passed on, it was good for me though, I could watch at 10pm, my local time. :) Happy and healthy new year to all!
