My name is Misti Mae and I just made the cut off for this forum as I only turned 50 in February. I suppose I am here mostly because my husband and I are now empty nesters as my daughter recently graduated college and moved over 2 hours away to her own place to start her own life. I have always been a stay at home mom and homemaker since she was born in 1998 and this whole concept of it just being me and my husband in this big home I am finding hard to grasp onto. To top it all off my daughter was also my running partner. So my husband goes off to his job all week and here I am trying to do things around the home. I have been in Running forums, Disney forums, and General Fitness forums before, but I'd thought I'd give something new a try because this new challenge I have with not having my daughter around I believe is something you all might be able to help me out with or at least cope a little with. Some things I really enjoy are, anything related to Disney and Walt Disney World, Running and Fitness, Bluegrass music is what I enjoy listening to. I also like cats and have a Siamese cat named Si-Am.

Thank you for writing that nice Introduction for us, Misti Mae. I hope you will find some good company and interactions, here with us, and some ideas, too.

Thank You Kaila. I just wanted to especially get in there that I am looking to meet people and why that is.

Welcome Misti Mae
Lovely name. I was raised with a variety of Siamese cats; chocolate point, seal point, and lilac point. It’s great to have another athlete join our forum and hope you enjoy your stay.

Thank You Keesha. I love my Siamese. He can be loud at times, but he is also 10 years old and is become lazy now. I remember playing Soccer at a pretty young age in Rec and then Basketball and Softball just came along. I have always just loved to run and be active.

Haha. Oddly enough I had written that they can sure meow loudly but erased it. 😅
My parents last cats were so old they could no longer hear very well so they would meow EXTRA loud especially when trying to find each other.

I think the only organized sports I liked was when I was younger and that was volleyball, badminton and floor hockey. For the most part though I’m a loner so prefer individual sports like ; walking, 🏊swimming , bicycling, skating, yoga 🧘‍♀️and kayaking.

Is your husband athletic also?

My husband plays Tennis and that is why I started playing that in high school. He was a Senior and I was a Sophomore and I really wanted to meet him so I tried out for the girls team which practiced at the same time as the boys. I somehow made it and then our romance came soon after.

Awwwww.... 💕 What a sweet, romantic introduction. Clearly it’s a long lasting relationship. That’s precious. My father played tennis three times a week well into his 80’s and only stopped due to a knee operation that he didn’t follow up with physiotherapy but he LOVED it. We used to joke saying he might walk if we put a racket in his hand. 😆
