Were You Ever a Partier?

noun. a person who parties, especially regularly or habitually: New Year's Eve always brings out the partiers.

I have had times of being a partier in my life, and quite enjoyed myself.

As for me at parties I had some alcoholic beverages, at times a little weed, and had tried some other recreational medicinal things a few times.😚🤪That was when I was very young, though, and I was quite a daring young person at the time. I would say I was a once a month partier then.

I would still enjoy a good get together with friends or relatives on occasion but have not had the opportunity in a pretty long time, and during these times it's scary to me, too.

So have you ever been a partier either part time or full time? :ROFLMAO: 😌✨🥤🍺🥂🍷🥃🍸🍹🍾And what and who did you party with?

Never cared for parties. Did have folks over for "dinner" parties though. Those were just a dinner and a chat though. We always had wine and dessert!
That sounds nice, I have always liked dinner parties with good food and a little wine~ 😌

Yes, my personal opinion on most parties is that there are too many people, and most of them get drunk. You have to be a drunk to enjoy a drunk. Also, you normally only have a meaningful conversation with a couple of people at a time...any more and its just "cocktail hour" talk.

Not much of a partier, though used to attend a few here and there, however, having always had a close-knit group of friends I went with, we used to have our own get-togethers, not all the time, but fairly regularly at friends homes and we used to have a ball. No drugs, not even marijuana, just beer and hard liquor, and we always behaved ourselves.

I don't like calling people "drunks" :pbut rather those who enjoy a few drinks together--they don't always have to get hammered to enjoy their times and conversation.

There are all size parties, from 2 people to many more--I prefer the more intimate ones with just 2 but have been to some parties with more and everyone was sociable. We used to have get-togethers here with food and spirits and most people maintained alright. I do recall one guy once, though, who had a bit too much to drink who got very loud but he wasn't obnoxious. Everyone told him to quiet down.

I enjoy meaningful conversation, too, and sometimes just joking around, too. It's a form of stress relief.

Oh, that's too bad you always behaved!:LOL:Glad you had a good time anyways.;)

Yes, I partied hard and often. Nurses and doctors are famous for this. Especially when we were in the military. And, later, living in NYC there was always a party. Had some really great times though.
Can you give an example of one of your party times? I love to hear the stories!:giggle:😂

Parties were a natural part of being young, dating, mating, etc...

I never had much of anything to do with drugs or marijuana I was more than content with alcohol and cigarettes.

When it came to parties I was usually in a comfortable corner of the kitchen or sitting on the stairs talking to one or two people.

I don't have the energy or the need for parties anymore.

NO.

I'm a late bloomer; while my friends partied even on school days, I was buried in my books. I didn't have a life until med school but it was limited to parties with interns and residents.

I don't have the energy anymore either.

Well, that sounds like it could have been a good time! I had a time of being buried in my books, too, for a long time.

I've never considered myself a partier, but I do enjoy some parties from time to time.

I was one of those teenagers that parents loved, never smoking and never drinking outside of the times my parents allowed me to taste their wine or occasionally have a glass of sparkling wine during special occasions.

I do enjoy some parties with people I know. I rarely do well at parties where I don't know anyone there. There is one party that usually takes place annually that I love to go to. It's a "Cellar Damage" party where an old boss opens up his wine cellar and brings out things which might have passed their prime or are getting to that point. He and his husband bought a lot of wine in the past and couldn't drink it all themselves so they share it with the rest of us. It's great because I get to try things that I wouldn't otherwise be able to try. There are lots of bottles that are 20 or more years old each year. They also have interesting friends and some of my old coworkers attend the party too so it's nice to see them as well.

In my teens, a couple of friends had regular house parties on the weekend. There was never alcohol, and everybody had a great time.

Once I was working and in my 20's, work friends from Barbados and Jamaica had really great parties. People took alcohol, but nobody ever got drunk. Great music, good dancing, delicious food always served at midnight. Though most of these parties were held in apartments, there was little complaint from other tenants.

I have no interest in parties unless there is a purpose. By that I mean if someone held a murder mystery party, I would be interested or was giving a talk or showing a film with something I was interested in or something I was learning I might be tempted but I guess that's not a party.
But if there was some 🥗🍷🍗 would that count:unsure: Never liked parties when I was younger. Just endured them in my attempt to be sociable - it failed. :D

Good for you all! I was just hoping to hear some good party stories! :p ;) :devilish:
Omg! I’ve got some wild party stories.
Once I had the best Halloween party ever. There was a huge prize for the best costume which I believe was a $200 gift certificate that each person contributed to. I had a table of delicious food, candies, treats, desserts as well as theme cocktails and shooters. One was a silver cloud and the other was a piña cola with fresh pineapple. There was a homemade punch and a variety of beers and coolers. Baileys and Kahlua for coffee. A variety of pot and hash😂and the costumes were really good. We had over 200 people show up. It was fun.

Another huge party I went to was when I lived out West. A party I went to where they had everything. The food was amazing. The drinks exceptional as well as other things.
There was a live band who were really good.

It was a WILD party with a pool and some people decided to go in with no bathing suites.

There were stations where you could play games outside as well as inside. There was probably over a thousand people there.

I’ve been to skiing parties that were amazing as well as camping parties where we swam and made fires. All the things you shouldn’t do while intoxicated, we did.

I partied at restaurants after hours where everything was free including food and drinks. Friends of mine who play guitar and sing were there so we sang almost all night.

Then there are plenty of concerts I’ve been to which turned into parties. I’ve been to amusement parks with groups of people which turned into crazy parties but with rides and stuff.

Ive been to formal parties where everyone was dressed up in gowns and tuxedos. There was lots of money being thrown around but lots of pretentious people too.

Then of course there are wedding parties, some of which have been crazy outrageous.

There was a time when I really enjoyed being around lots of people.
Now I’d hate all of this. In fact I dodge most social invitations.

Sounds like you had some fun times and I can relate.
