Weiner rollups

This is a great recipe for making weiner rollups.

You can buy the Pillsbury dough, but then you have to use up the entire can all at once.
With the recipe you can just make a few as desired.
It would be great for picnics. You could just warm them up as needed after you have cooked them
They are brushed with butter. The idea is soft buns.
Mustard for a dip. I made bread sticks with the left over. I used the ball park weiners. I think it would work better on the small weiners.

I don’t eat anything like that sort of food,( hotdogs ) it has a spice that gives me heartburn
I use a iPad and I can see the instructions by pinching / expanding the screen ,if you use a laptop / desktop you could zoom in on the recipe @Kayelle

Sure wish my eyes were good enough to read the recipe. Adorable Bea!
Here is a link to the recipe.

Thanks Bea for the link.

Camper you could just as easily do the same thing when posting a recipe that's not yours. All you need to do is copy the url and post it as a link where it came from in the first place. It's a whole lot easier for everybody. Just saying, but you'll likely be offended.
The reason I don't like posting just the link is because you end up getting a ton of advertising or invites for subscriptions or whatever. It frustrates me that I can't just get to the recipe. This way you can just read it to find out if you like it or not or whether it's suitable for your tastes. All you have to do is click on it to post it.
What I posted is the full size that I get. So even if you get the link and post it out you are still going to get the same size print. I had a way of doing it before where you could just click on the copy and enlarge it to suit.

Oh by the way. I just noticed. The link is at the top of the recipe page. Double duty.

Also some people don't have a printer. They can just use their tablet while they prepare the dish.

No I'm not offended. Why should I be? I'll stick to what I think is the way to post a recipe. If the print is too small for some, I will enlarge it.
Trying to tell me how to use a computer is like telling your father how to have sex. :p

I'm expanding the use of the dough to breakfast sausages. But I will partially cook them first.

The rollups are really handy if you just want a snack. I had them cold.

I also froze the dough and will see how that works out.

I appreciate all the comments. That's what makes it fun.

Camper, I used to make something similar for my kids using Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. :D
Pillsbury now has weiner roll ups dough in addition to crescent rolls. I bought one. I have it in the fridge. But the problem is you have to use up all the dough once you open that pesky container. I hate opening it because I never get it right and it explodes. So I was looking for a smaller portion so I could make up just a few. One jumbo weiner is enough for two meals for me. I found I could freeze the dough and use it later. Great snack. Even cold.

Interesting; I haven't seen the wiener roll up things. I know the crescent rolls are available in small packs of 4 now; I buy them occasionally for my husband and me (but not for wieners).

I grew up knowing as " Piggies in a Blanket " Had always used sausages......but weiners sound great too, i bet any type of sausage like meat would work.
As it so happened, that was a recipe we did in Home Ec. class.......About a hundred years ago.

we always called them -pigs in a blanket---we used can biscuits--we cut the hot dog in 4 peaces and rolled them in the dough you could put bacon and cheese in them and dip them in mustard

What is the secret to opening a Pillsbury dough package?
I never get it right. The instructions are terrible.
You are supposed to pop it open on a seam or something? It's weird.

Thanks Bea for the link.

The url is right at the top of the page along with the printed recipe.
What could be easier?

We called them piggies in a blanket . My mom used to make them once in a while and used pillsbury dough from the store. She’d usually put cheese in them so they become ‘Cheese Piggies in Blankets.’
