How many people do we have to get rid of to allow the rest to live in a decent world.

I believe this virus will leave an ecological mark on the world. Especially if the death rates continue as they have. I just sincerely hope this wasn't something that was planned.

Since older people are the most vulnerable are you saying God hates old people? If the article is to be believed then wouldn't God make those able to increase the population more vulnerable?
I don't recall naming any specific age group or stating that God hates anyone. Putting words in my mouth won't help your cause.

The UN did a population study in the late 1990's which put the maximum sustainable human population at slightly less than 6 billion. We are already well over 7.5 billion, with 9 billion expected by mid century, and possibly 12 billion by the year 2100. With automation, robotics and AI making human labor less necessary every year, it will not be long before half the population is living at or near poverty, while the other half is doing quite well. If pandemics like this CV don't thin out the human "herd", a massive global conflict between the "Haves" and the "Have Nots" will certainly become a real possibility....quite likely before this century is out. If humans don't begin to follow the laws of "supply and demand", the future is not going to be very pretty.

I just finished a novel that I highly recommend. It is a sort of near-future ecological-disaster story that deals with what it is going to take to save the earth. It's a bit heavy going but it's intriguing reading.

The title is "The Ministry for the Future" and the author is Kim Stanley Robinson.

A nut named Jim Jones followed the idea mass elimination of human life in 1978 in Guyana poisoning over 900 people before putting a gun to his head. Putting the gun to his head was the second best thing he ever did. The best thing he ever did was pulling the trigger.

Are you willing to be thinned out?
