Permission to Come Aboard...?

Just joined. I'm an Elder Orphan and went a-googling for resources and this site popped up - so I joined just too see what I could see and find threads of commonality with other members.

Hopefully, this forum is active. I'm eager to become a participating member, where we all support each other.

So, howdy 2 1 and all...

Welcome aboard, SmoothSeas!

The life ring is much appreciated and warms my nautical heart. Perhaps, it'll prove prophetic. I'm hopin' so; this is the first senior forum I've joined.
I love the mixed perception a life-buoy extends, on one-hand it represents a welcome, like as in, you're covered, yet on the other-hand it reflects a sign of a possible ominous future or event. :)

My bet is you'll love it here. Lots and lots of great people, hands-on experience and life knowledge galore, but most of all just a casual group where one always feels at home pulling up a chair to the table and enjoying good conversation.

Hola, Pinky...

An international forum, eh? Hopefully, it'll broaden my horizons.

I'm in central Kentucky, after a recent move from Florida. This latitude is proving to be and adjustment - not to mention the elevation. It's really hilly here; makes my thighs ache when I attempt to go for a walk...

Thanks again for the welcome. Here's hopin' we meet again in another thread...

Lots of historical sites there. Zachary Taylor is buried in Louisville. Daniel Boone and Henry Clay around the northeast. Lincoln's birthplace in Hodgenville, along with his childhood farm a few miles away, Knobcreek.

Mammoth cave is a sight to see (no Mastadon's, just beauty).
