A sharp left turn to our day!

I'm so confused.... do you think driving with properly treated sleep apnea is a common denominator for the first two of your list??? o_O I'd love to see the studies you read to get to that conclusion. And it isn't just in the US that people who use CPAPs continue to drive.
No, I think the law is the common denominator to the lack of all three.

Neither my wife or I have sleep apnea, but I was surprised to learn that all three of my children use a CPAP machine. Hereditary
, I guess not.
Now back to the thread.
How about skipping a generation? Nothing new in that. My grandfather had it although I am sure that his generation (born at the end of 1800) gave it a name or even understood what it was. I remember him falling asleep at the drop of a hat even in a chair ...... and snore! Wow! Me too, they tell me.

Goodness. What a reach to derail a thread. From an OP happy about a new car to your sleep apnea to getting in a dig at Americans though most nations allow people with properly treated sleep apnea to drive. Better get your CPAP settings checked and make sure you're not suffering from sleep apnea induced brain fog; it truly does impact cognition.

Sorry that you don't understand my point. Never mind. Carry on.

Your new Mustang - okay, your husband's new Mustang, LOL - is beautiful! What fun!

We were walking past a Ford dealership last month and I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the new Mustang Mach-E SUV. It was GORGEOUS, in a metallic dark grey.

Unfortunately I never buy a car in its first or second model year, preferring that they get the "bugs" out of it first. And I still love my 2017 Ford Edge Sport SUV, so I'm not complaining.

I have never found a photo of the Mach-E in the metallic dark grey paint that has photographed well. It really has to be seen to be appreciated. But this is it in a color somewhat lighter and more yellow than our Edge Sport - our Sport is more a rich caramel brown metallic:

Not that I really need a car that goes 0-60 in 3.2 seconds with an e-range of 300+ miles, but a lady can dream, can't she? LOL!

Is it nostalgia or styling preference? The first Ford Mustang model from 1964 had so much more wow factor.

There again, so did Jaguar, a company once owned by Ford.

On the left is a model from 1964, the same year that the Mustang was launched. On the right, the current model. It doesn't really stir the blood.

Our day Saturday started out with painting, and shopping and cooking for Easter, and working on the porch and yard. And then I blinked and next thing I know we’re heading back from Paducah Kentucky with this!! 🤷‍♀️ 😳 🤦🏼‍♀️

It’s a Mustang GT convertible. Turbo. 5 speed. Back in ‘66, when Ron was in his late 20s, he bought one brand new...it was his first ever brand new car. He’s wanted another mustang ever since.

I knew he’d been browsing. But he’s such a gear head, and is always browsing cars and bikes for sale so I didn’t give it any thought till around midday he casually mentioned how about we “go for a little drive.”

Um....what? I’d just gotten back from doing the food shopping for Easter and changed into my painting clothes to tackle a section of kitchen that we were going to paint before I got rolling on the cooking for Easter.

The “little drive” was a 2.5 hour road trip to Kentucky where the car was being sold!! But it was an amazing deal and it made Ron SO happy, so what could I do?? 🤷‍♀️ The food could get cooked later. So off we went!! He’s wiped that thing down so many times already there won’t be any paint left soon!’😂💕
Ronni. Has Ron, handed the keys over to you yet to burn a little rubber after an evening cocktail or a glass or two of wine? :giggle:

I was thinking about that last week when I happened to notice that the Toyota in the parking lot was actually an MG. Ugggh!

Nice! And since you were favourably impressed by the rare Aston Martin "shooting brake" I am guessing that this rare 1960 Jaguar XK150S 3.8-Litre Fastback will also tickle your fancy.

OMG, yes, you have my number, Verisure!

Wow, what a sporty car! Seems like such a beautiful car should be a convertible.

Hardtop or convertible version for you, Verisure?

Ohhhh! That's too difficult a question. The XK 150 (much more than the XK 120) is one of my all-time favourites. I love them all. I'll take the drophead for summer and a fixed head for winter, please!

All of the Jaguar straight-six DOHC engines purrrr like my heart on the first kiss!
Is that a V12 (a straight six)?

Jay was saying his car has a V12 in it.

Sorry I can't talk turkey with you guys. I'm a housewife not a mechanic. :giggle:

I'm sure Jay knows what he is talking about but I am familiar with the six-cylinder Jags. I expect the V-12 purrs just as nicely.

I drove an E type with the V12

Straightened some curves, but disappointed in how it handled

Think I got it up to somewhere around 140-160mph

Don't really know, as the few times I did look, it was the Tach
Red lining can be a concern
