The changing seasons dictate my backyard bird life. This time of summer the robins, blackbirds and starlings have layed their eggs and raised their young and have either disappeared or gone quiet. Cardinals and various sparrows who stay here year-round now have the place to themselves and serenade unlike the squawking of those aforementioned. Come the cold and juncos will be back and the Cardinals and sparrows will be looking for a handout. It's a cycle.
