Do you have any place where you can just be Free Normal and Happy?

I would like to get away, maybe the beach which I did once, even with a broken foot and back.

That did not stop me, yet feeling worse with all the bad news of crimes in daylight, plus restrictions. I thought maybe a place nearby but then worried about security.

Does anyone else, like to get away but is thinking twice? My BD is soon I just need a change.
 

Happy and free? Yes, absolutely! But normal? Nope, normal doesn’t suit me at all. For me, it’s not so much about the place that I find myself in but rather my personal state of mind.

There's a hint of normality here, but the threats of covid and further restrictions are hanging over the place.

At this time in a 'normal' year, we'd be in Germany exploring the Christmas markets and doing some shopping. We would love to be going away, but while things are bad in the UK, they're no better (or even worse) in Europe.
 

you know the old saying...
home is where the heart is.

i can't wait to get home when i'm at work. or if i've had to go to town for something. home is where i feel comfortable. i can be myself with no judgment. i can relax and do what i want. now if only i didn't need my phone for anything i'd be in business.
 
At home spending the day in my daughters old bedroom which I have turned into a she cave. I have everything in that room to make me happy and content.
In the summer I love to be in my garden early in the morning or just before dusk providing the neighbors and the bugs don't get to me.
On occasion we have been invited to travel with my daughter. The best times are spent sitting by a quiet stream listening to the water and birds.

I relate to this. I'm in California also. Never been to Yosemite or Lake Tahoe. Kind of pathetic. I'm from Santa Cruz originally but haven't seen the ocean in many years. I too worry about travel alone. Plus I have the cats. I'd love to have a place to get away to. There are places close by me but again, I often worry about being alone and out and about.
 
What has happened to our society if you have to worry about security? If that's the case where you live, you might want to consider a move, probably to some small town where everybody knows everybody and watches each other's back.

Don't know who's post you're addressing but security would be the last thing I'd ever be concerned about.
I personally live in a small town and I don't know ANYONE! There is not one person I can count on for anything.

Who's post mentioned security?

Depends on the small town; some don't take kindly to newcomers (i.e., anybody who's lived there less than 20 years).
