Elton John in Uber Eats commercial….🥴

They wouldn't be very entertaining if they were all perfectly sane.
Have you seen Elton John in the commercial? That goes beyond a lack of sanity ( in my opinion only)

Not any more than many non-celebrities, their behaviors are just more visible to the rest of us. If i could make the $$$ he probably made with that endosement i'd do it (tho i would only do it for a product or service i truly use and recommend).
ADDITIONALLY:
The public bears some responsibility in the way commercials have evolved from straight forward statements about what and how the product/service does for the consumer by giving more innovative pitches more attention and essentially voting on what sways us with how we spend our $$$. Same goes for content of shows and movies, what the most people watch will get copied.

Think about it folks, more people will watch the ad all the way thru at least once to see what all the talk is about, meanwhile the celebs are creating another revenue stream to fill their bank accounts, children's trust funds, etc.

Celebrities make huge money on commercials. An actress said she made more money on a 2 day commercial shoot than her four years as a regular on a popular sitcom. David Spade said the same thing about a commercial when he was on SNL. Bet Jon Hamm needs a couple of banks to store all his money.

This was Elton John's Christmas advert for the UK John Lewis Stores.

Sir Elton John features 13th on the top 20 list for total donations with £301 million in contributions. The most he has donated in one year was £41.9 million in 2008/9. In the last year he has donated £24.3 million. According to the data, he is the third most consistent giver in the country, featuring on The Sunday Times list for over 11 years. Charities include the Elton John Aids Foundation, The Elton John Sports Fund and The Royal Academy of Music. In November, he announced that he would give his fee from this year’s John Lewis Christmas ad to charity.

Since its founding, EJAF (Elton John Aids Foundation) has raised over $125 million to support programs in 55 countries around the globe through prevention and education, elimination of prejudice and discrimination, and providing services to people living with the disease. The singer also gives large amounts of his personal wealth to charity. In addition he's raised over $600 million to support HIV related programs in fifty-five countries.

Elton John could possibly reach the one billion mark that he either gives from his personal wealth or raises from supporting by doing those adverts and many other fund raising projects. Did you know that he has supported over 64 charities, many of them in the US?

It would be true to say that I am hard pushed to name any of his records, other than: "Candle in the Wind." But if he has lost his mind then many others have gained a great deal and I am all for that.

Elton John in Uber Eats commercial….🥴
he's definitely not doing it on our TV's..he'd be laughed right off it.....but I can imagine he's doing it because there was no Live concerts for the last 2 years .. so no money coming in... , and this is a man who self admittedly spends £15k a month on Flowers just for his home every single month..
Looking at his upcoming tour of the UK this coming year..his tickets average at around £300 per seat...with some as expensive as £1,900. That's a lot of money to lose, so I would imagine the commercial money was too good to turn down..

I do recognize that SIR Elton John has donated a whole lot to charity and for that he has earned much respect and admiration…I also recognize that he is not doing the ad for free..but at what price do you make a fool of yourself? What does that commercial have to do with his charity work? I simply mentioned that to me it is embarrassing in view of his great talent as a singer..my opinion to which I am entitled..( I now walk away in a huff) 😹😹love you all

I never saw the commercial, had to look it up, I assume this in the one you're posting about. I don't think it's that bad, many ads use celebrities to sell their products or services, been going on for years. At least he's not pushing prescription drugs.

That's awful garbage but the producers have protected themselves by having one actor white and the other black. Now, the politically correct can sleep well at night.
