Do you have any Brand Loyalties when it comes to products you buy? And are there other items that you don't mind a generic?

Well, I prefer Pepsi products, but would not refuse Coke if the only offering in a restaurant. For Cleaning, etc, I am all about the brand. I like Dawn dish soap, and Arm and Hammer laundry soap.
I do not know if it is considered "generic" but do like much from Great Value, which is the Walmart Store brand and would buy that of available in some things I buy

Peanut butter is in short supply here in Ecuador.
There aren’t any local brands. Jif is imported but
it’s about $6 for one of those tiny jars. It’s okay,
bananas are cheap. About 5 lbs for a dollar.
That jar above looks dee-lish-us! Mmmm!

I thought you were going to sleep! You are just like me. I see those messages pop up and then before I know it it is 3am and I say oh s***t I am never going to get a good night's sleep.

I prefer Kirkland (Costco's brand) toilet paper and paper towels. Also what used to be Kirkland disinfectant wipes has been replaced with Nice & Clean brand and seems to be the same product. They are bigger and stronger than Clorox or Lysol wipes and often I can use a half sheet. I was also buying Kirkland Almond milk by the case (no refrigeration needed until opened) but found out Shoprite's Wholesome Pantry (refrigeration needed) is actually cheaper, especially if I choose sweetened over unsweetened.

I used to prefer Heinz ketchup but have tried the Shoprite (SR) brand and it's pretty good. I recently just bought Heinz again yesterday though because it was $1.50 off. I've also recently tried SR block cream cheese and I like it. Normally I buy the Philadelphia onion and chives in the tubs but haven't been able to find it lately. So I tried SR brand. Philly cream cheese tub runs $2.89. I've gotten SR brand (also 8 ounce size) for 77 cents on sale. I also like Shoprite's Bowl & Basket ice cream almost as much as I like Haagen Daz, their Muenster cheese and their frozen waffles.

I've tried a few of Walmart's generic items, brand name Great Value, that I like...pouch tuna, low fat mayo, mango chunks and citrus disinfectant spray (but that's nearly impossible to find since the pandemic). Buying generic offers big savings but I won't buy a generic item if I again if I didn't like it. Also remember that many generics are made by the brand name companies.

I buy a lot of brand name products. Depends on the ingredients in it. If it is a personal care or household cleaning product depends on the fragrance. I have to be careful on those and try to get unscented as much as possible. If it is a food I am super careful on what has been used in it. Especially cooking oils.

I buy a mix of branded and 'own label' products. Over time I've found the ones I prefer and stick to those. I have generally found Lidl and Aldi products are pretty good. I buy seafood from local fishmongers and most meat from local butchers. One exception is Morrisons because they have in-store butchers and their meat comes from local farms.

I've had good luck with Samsung products — mainly their monitors and TVs, so that's my go-to brand for those things. We have one LG monitor which works fine, but it's much lower resolution than the Samsungs, which is my fault for not checking first. I just assumed it had good resolution. It just goes to show that you can't assume anything.

I also always buy Diet Pepsi as apposed to Diet Coke.

And I always buy Honda vehicles. You can't beat their reliability.

Other than that, I don't have any brand loyalty that I can think of off hand.

Crystal Light, Tide, Ivory Bath Wash, Folgers Half & Half, Great Grains Cereal, Lipton Teas....Peach Teas (Bottled), Tazo Teas...just a few I can think of.....big shout out to Chris P, this has been a fun thread.

Well, if you buy ketchup, it has to be Hienz. I heard that some heathens buy knock offs. Of course, there's Tide. And of course, Pepsi. I will never forgive Coke for Tab, let alone for "New Coke". I sed to buy generic brand stuff. But as I get older, it dawned on me that one of the reasons they are cheap is that they are inferior to brand stuff. I used to buy the cheap toilet paper, but I found out the brand names are a better product and last longer-saving money in the long run.
