It's estimated that more than 1 in 3 adults have at least one type of cardiovascular disease
Such as coronary heart disease.

EPA and DHA
Getting enough EPA and DHA omega-3 fish oil helps maintain the health of your cardiovascular system and support healthy circulation.

More than 90% of U.S adults don't get enough of EPA and DHA omega-3 from fish
to meet current recommendations for cardiovascular health.

Dietary recommendations: To consume at least two servings (8 oz.) of a variety of seafood, preferably fatty fish, rich in DHA and EPA omega-3 fatty acids, per week.

I tried taking the fish oil capsules, I'm not fussed on fish as it is, but the capsules repeated on me all day and every day.

i like fish would eat more often but Hubby not thrilled ... and hard to find fresh at a reasonable price......

Many people think eating fish is breaded and deep fried anyway....
I think many of these items are ads for supplements period.
I have been reading all the studies that say do this ......no do that .. try this ....... or try that.
everyone is now considered ..................a future heart patient / a future diabetic.................. and do not even think about cholesterol as the limits keep getting lower and lower like a limbo stick ........ as Statins are the pharmas biggest profit item....

I can't always get or prepare fish, especially a good healthy fish.

I have Flax Oil, instead, most every day. I really love it.

Yes, it's expensive, but I view it like a medication expense, but far better than waiting till I need a med, for not taking the flax oil.☺️😂😆😁😄

Without generating fear, no one would buy fish oil. Or any other oil.
Buy this or else you'll have a heart attack. 😂

I have a friend who is an enviromental tech. She recommended the current brand that I am using:

it's fermeneted cod liver oil, by a company called "Green Pasture"

I put it in the fridge. I forgot if that is necessary or just increases its life.

It's caps.

I have not had it repeat on me.

If folks, generally, want an excellent vitamin company, I definitely recommend Life Extension. A bit more pricey than an average brand, but excellent. Been around since the 1970's. They have a magazine. The magazine has articles with professional footnotes, documenting professional scientific studies. Archives on the magazine are online, free.

They also have a nutritional consultant that will talk with you over the phone. At least some of that is free. Maybe when you get a membership, which we did.

I take fish oil daily, menhaden oil, it seems fine with my system. I also average more than 2 fish meals per week. So maybe I am ok.

Probably some truth to that. I do it because one of my clients makes fish oil from menhaden, so I buy theirs. Not sure it cures me of anything, but doesn't seem to hurt.

I've been using this brand of fish oil for many years now. I don't take it daily, because we have an oven broiled fillet of salmon once a week, usually Norwegian salmon when available, which is high in Omega 3. We also often have lox and bagels or Honeysmoked salmon in addition to that. Omega 3 fish oil is very good for health of the brain, eyes, heart, etc.

My Opthamologists have all recommended that I take 2200 mg of Omega 3 from a fish source. It has improved anything but it hasn’t hurt either.

Those of us who were born just after the war were well cared for. We were given cod liver oil, orange juice and a spoonful of malt every day. Obviously the benefits of fish oil have been known for some time.

A few years ago, I had "floaters" in my eyes. The eye doctor recommended that I start a routine of taking a fish oil capsule and a Lutein pill every day. After 4 or 5 months, the floaters went away, and I continue that regimen today. A few cents a day for a couple of supplements is a lot better than suffering vision problems.

Would cod liver oil do the same thing?

I took fish oil capsules for years (over 10) and my doctor asked me why was I taking it because it wasn't necessary. So I stopped about 5 years ago and nothing happened, which made me wonder.

I think supplements do work for some people more then others and we can debate until the end of time which ones are better etc....
if you feel better or see an improvement take them for the cost benefit ratio it may be worth it..... each person has different needs.
I have read an article if i took all those listed for my age/ sex/ etc i would need to get up earlier to have time to swallow them all.... i feel the writer must have been heavily invested in people eating them like skittles.

far too many IMO take supplements and buy more different / more expensive ones after every ad/ article / suggestion and feel nothing but lighter in the pocketbook.

Oh! I keep it in the fridge. Take big gulps of it when I remember! Love it! It seems to wake up my brain!
yes, it is supposed to help brain function. You must be very very aware, to be able to directly sense its effects. I would assume actual cold liver oil is better than the Omega 3. Because the Omega 3 is a more processed product.

you guys are inspiring me. My doctor has told me to take it endlessly. And I have, just not as regularly as I probably should.

I took it for about ten years after my quadruple bypass surgery. The doctor took me off of it in 2017. Around that time I remember reading it was not as beneficial as was first thought. I thought about taking it again but have not yet. I am also thinking about getting on a probiotic.
