Covid rears it's ugly head here at work

I hope you didn't get infected Bretrick. My grandson had the same situation at one of his jobs. Several people came out with COVID after the start of the "publicized" pandemic. I say publicized because we believe my grandson had it a couple of months earlier (New Year's Day 2020) and a friend of mine had it in February. My grandson wasn't able to work for a couple of months and when he went back his co-workers were getting sick.

I have the same questions as Jules.

The employee quit. Did not want to work here anymore.
He has issues playing on his mind and he is unable to set them aside when at work.
Help was offered him but he rejected that help.
We can not social distance in this environment. Not practical. All we can do is check our temperature each morning and wear a mask.

This Covid issue is pretty political and I don't really feel like I should get into it. Basically, I'm sick and tired of the whole affair as it has been going on for over 2 years. Just a comment I can't resist:

Our local paper is very pro mask and very anti-government when our government said that wearing masks would no longer be mandated but optional. Well and good! Yesterday I read one of their full page article about some young people getting Covid19 (or some variant of it). The article went on and on crying how the government has let them down by making masks optional. When I kept reading this very long article I learned that the young person who got Covid had gone to a concert and picked it up there. And says I, "WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?" They go to a concert, they get sick and they cry for the whole world to feel sorry for them. What a cry baby! Covid is still around so it would be best to keep away from large crowds. I don't wear a mask when I go for a walk and I'm healthy. Maybe I'm lucky but if I got sick I wouldn't go to the papers and expect the whole country to feel sorry for me. My philosophy: Shoot yourself in the foot and you are going to feel the pain.

We just finished up the Houston Livestock Show here with pictures of crowds not wearing masks and you cannot social distance. Would not be surprised if we have a big breakout here in the next few weeks. I would have loved to have seen George Strait in concert but I will listen to him via my cd's and you tube instead of the in person concert. Not worth the risk to me!

My friend in the UK who was fully vaccinated caught the virus, while not in the hospital, 8 weeks later is still very fatigued, finds it almost impossible to do anything because of it. He was told by his doctor that he could catch it again and 1 in 13 people have the virus. Wearing a mask is virtually non existent. !!??

Indications are that another "spike" is arriving in many parts of the world. It appears that Covid is Not going away anytime soon. At least the current variants don't seem to be as Lethal as the original, and the vaccines have helped reduce the numbers of infected substantially.

True of over 90 percent, or 99 percent of most people of all ages, concerning the planned pandemic.
i.e. they have other issues, like arthritis, diabetes, asthma, pneumonia, cancer, indigestion, heartburn, diarrhea and so on, but very few affected by any virus as the fear-mongering media tries to claim.

I took a little walk yesterday to see them cruisers going to and from their monster vessels. I'm here in Skagway, Alaska and there were 2 big monsters in the harbour. I would say, just guessing, that perhaps 20% of the people on those boats are still wearing those masks.
