‘To do’. lists

I write a list of things I have to do each week and wondered just how much I’d remember without it.....

Do you have a ‘To do list’ ?

If I lots to do and a deadline, I create a list. If I do something not on the list, I add it and then cross it out.

I make lists for shopping. I definitely need to look at them once I get to the store.

I have always used 'to do' lists, especially when I was working. Recently, having been retired for some time, I find I cannot always remember where I put my 'to do' list. Now that is frustrating.... growing old is not the best time in life.

I keep a running two weeks of chores, appointments, deliveries, must see TV, etc… on the back of a junk mail envelope.

I put coupons and paperwork related to the list inside of the envelope.

I also keep a running list of things I need, or at least think I need.

I usually edit the list before I go to the store and try to limit my purchases to what I need for the next three or four days.

I don’t keep my lists because I have too much to do.

I use the lists to make sure I have a little something to do each day. 🤭

Did you ever forget where you put the envelope @Aunt Bea? I have to tape my bills to a living room wall or I'd forget to pay them. Have you seen my glasses anywhere?
The envelope is always at the little command center by my chair.

My income is direct deposit and my bills are on autopay.

I have jumped into the shower with my glasses or socks on, does that count? 😉

Have both a to-do-list and to-buy-list right in my laptop's home directory where I cannot miss it. Otherwise our modern world is often much too complicated for most of us to remember all we need to address. Especially those items that are days, weeks, months ahead or have low trivial importance. Same situation at professional workplaces where having a calendar and schedules is invaluable lest one become distracted by myriad activities then miss important meetings with superiors. Did you remember to buy more kitchen trash bags at the supermarket since you noticed last week that the roll is all used up?

Electronic TODO lists don't cut it for me. They're too easy to ignore. Instead, I have a huge whiteboard in my office with my list of things to do, stuff to buy (so I can do the things I need to do), and any other notes that might help me make it through the night without waking up up in a panic at 3:00 AM remembering something I forgot to do. I have enough stuff on my list to keep me busy through the winter.

I use paper for daily (or weekly) lists of things I want to get done, but I use the TickTick app on my phone for my grocery list because I know (hope) I'll have my phone with me at the store, and because I can edit and uncheck items to put them back on the list (I tend to buy the same things over and over).

But for really important dates (like appointments, tours, and hotel check-out/travel days) I found I wanted to see the info written on the appropriate date on a regular calendar, so I bought a full size paper calendar pad that has a magnetic strip to stick to the hotel refrigerator.

‘To do’........ I don't need lists for these actions.

Always keep looking at the pavement outside No. 43, their dog always leaves a little hill of poo which I've splattered with my foot on several occasions.

At mid-day on Tuesdays, never venture past Mrs Mac's, or she will drag me into her kitchen to 'taste' her stew...... I don't know what she puts in it, but it's revolting, and it takes three humbugs to get rid of the taste.

When I meet up with a few of the lads for a pint, make sure Charlie is pushed to the bar first, he always seems to manage not buying a round.

If I were ever daft enough to go swimming again, remember not to wear those old woollen trunks that seem to come off in the water.

I know it's late at night, and I shouldn't, but I'm wading my way through a bowl of ice cream. Mmmmmmmm 😊

My, my, you are so energetic, Aunt Bea, I prefer to just walk into my shower, unless of course the setting has been to hot, then I jump out. 😊
