IMHO the United States "war on drugs" is in reality a "war about drugs". They are all in the lucrative business of carving up the global golden goose at the expense of our culture. My condolences and thanks for posting.

GEE! I think I'll stick with my "Sailor Jerry". I have a couple of drinks and it's "beddy, beddy, bye, bye" for me. Don't need anything else. Don't want anything fogging up my brain.
 
The class 1 narcotics drugs and specially fenatyl can be blamed on

1. open Mexico borders to illegal immigrants, criminals,gangs and drug dealers.

2. Chinese Communists deliberately and illegally exporting boatloads of the chemical feedstocks used to manufacture these poisons, to many countries where the end drug is cooked up. Thanks Mr Xi.

3. Avaricious drug dealers mixing fenatyl as a cheap diluant into more costly drugs like cocaïne, heroine, methamphetamine, and pushing the lethal mixture, junk on our tender and nieve children and teens.

One's heart breaks to see the sweet and beautiful girls destroyed or killed by a SINGLE tablet. Who can conceive of such a Devils plan? What Devine punishment awaits these horrible criminals, when they are finally held to account and meet their end?

These drugs are not the drugs of the 60’s and 70’s. They are highly addictive….and therefore lucrative to create a market around. A person is ignorant who believes this is a new problem. What is new is the smaller amounts of these drugs needed to create a customer. It is complicated. Building border walls and sending back 100 percent of those persons would only make those drugs more valuable. That is the law of supply and demand. Follow the money….
 
I had been working as a pilot for about five years and my back started hurting. One night, the pain was so bad that my wife took me to the emergency room. The doctor prescribed 1cc of Fentanyl IV through a port they had put in. It only took about a minute to work. The pain was immediately gone, but so was my brain. That was a really bad trip. I told my doctor to put in my file never give me that again.

I had a similar experience, only with patches. This stuff way too strong, even for me who has high tolerance for these things.
 
With out of control world overpopulation driven by economic wealth seekers, and its increasing hopelessness for have-nots, one can expect death and suicides by use of these drugs will only increase among a list of other negatives. We supposedly intelligent humans need to face reality.

Why do people start?

The girl who was molested by her father and brothers, and they denied abusing her
The boy who was abused by his father and mother, couldn't please them,
The vet with lingering agony that even heroin won't touch,
The guy who wanted to escape into oblivion for a few hours instead of remembering what the priest did to him.
I'm sure there's others......
