Do you miss incandescent light bulbs?

Gaer

"Angel whisperer"
Just up at the hardware store looking for any old incandescent light bulbs. They are no more. Couldn't find them.
The government now has banned the manufacture of the incandescent light bulbs for more "energy efficient" bulbs.

LED light bulbs cause irreversible damage to the eye retina, particularly the macula, in the center of the eye.
They also have neurotoxins as lead and arsenic, in the event of breakage, but this is secondary to the
"macular degeneration" and other damage this may cause in elder eyesight.

Remember the movie "Peggy Sue" where she went to visit her grandparents?
Remember the soft, sweet, romantic ambiance around the room from the old light bulbs?
And, they cast a beautiful glow, radiating a lovely gentle light enhancing everything.
They were soft on the eyesight and did not cause damage to the eye.

Yes, I miss them. Those new and improved bulbs take forever to cook anything in my Easy Bake Oven!

You know what, though? You can get LED bulbs that are frosted, and they have a nice, warm glow. There's colored ones, too. The one in our bedroom gives off a subtle rose color.

No I don't miss incandescent light bulbs. We tried the curly ques when they first started pushing them. Horrible! So, hubby went out and bought boxes of the 4 pack incandescents. Now, whenever a bulb burns out, we replace it with one of the incandescents. We have enough to last our lifetimes. ;)

At first I did. However, when we bought this house and did a full remodel, including all new wiring we went 100% LED. Took a bit of getting used to, but now I'd never go back. Brighter and longer lasting bulbs and fixtures.
Many people have issues with migraines when in LED light. My daughter is one. From a site explaining it:
"But what you might not know is that LED lights can cause migraines and headaches. The reason for this is that LEDs emit short wave, high energy, blue light. This type of light is known to cause headaches, migraines, eye strain and fatigue."

Did not know that, thanks. Not a problem for us, so far.

Yep, Amazon, @Gaer .... I just ordered six 40s and six 60s along with some chandelier bulbs, prompted by your post here, and the fact that even the sale of them will soon be banned.

Probably a conspiracy by pharmaceutical manufacturers to sell more pain relievers.

I just hit myself in the forehead! AMAZON! OK, Thanks, I assumed they would no longer be for sale on there so I didn't look!
Yes, THANKS! I just bought a bunch of them on there and put more in my cart! DUH!!!!

@Murrmurr, I understand even the pink and frosted ones emit a radiation, a radio frequency that can do a lot of damage to your overall health.
I'm more concerned about having perfect eyesight into old age though. My vision is so important to me!
