Who do you talk with the most?

Because my iPhone is my primary means of staying in touch with friends, family and clients, I am able to track number of minutes/hours or alternately how much data I use, for each contact in my phone.

I have 537 contacts in my phone currently. That’s a modest amount compared to many folks I know, and includes things like doctor, vet, lawyer, appliance guy, dog groomer to name a few of the many, as well as all my family and friends.

I talk to my husband and my daughter the most. With my daughter it’s more often in text. We text back and forth all day every day. For you techies, my text string with Paige will get up to about 3 GIG of my phone’s data (about a months work of text convo) before I delete it and start over. 😂

Ron texts, but he’s slower than me and prefers to talk on the phone. The rest of my kids, grands, spouse-in-laws, clients and most of my friends all text so there’s lots more texting than phone calls.

What about you?

I sometimes talk to the wife like I'm texting her, short and sweet.

'stuff in the tuberware safe to eat?
'seen my glasses?'
'dinner is when?'

'you're right...'

Probably talk to the clerk at the neighborhood little store the most.
Always a sports team to talk about or what's on sale.
Forget your wallet, he'll say, 'no problem, swing by when you can'.

Not much of a phone talker.

Talk to my dog the most ... and he's a great listener.

My kids prefer text to talking most of the time.
Younger granddaughters call me after school quite often, and start out with .. 'Just checking in on you Gram'..

And talking to my neighbors at this senior complex is an everyday thing - no lack of people around to talk with.

My son, overwhelmingly. My son enjoys talking & dissecting politics as much or more than I do, so he needs me! to help him get his rap in order. We talk about many other things, but being able to really have at the news is one of our main topics.

I talk to my husband and my youngest daughter. My son and my other daughter, rarely these days. I think politics has soured those relationships.
Other than that I just speak to people when I'm out and about.

a dozen numbers on the phone, local transit, grocers that deliver, a couple VA numbers, old high school bud, house cleaner. nobody texts so i mostly just talk.

My wife of 52 years. We are retired and spend lot's of time together. Life is short, so we make the best of our time together...
We have three kids who blessed us with six grandkids who now have blessed us with one great grandchild. So, we do talk to others, but none more than each other...

I talk to my language partner in Guatemala, for 20 minutes most evenings. I'm surprised I have that much to talk about.

Second is my local language partner, once a week for about an hour.

Anyone else, maybe 2 minutes per month, or per year....

NorthernLight, how do you talk to him? By phone or skype? And I presume you speak Spanish while talking to him. Wait, I even don't know if your language partner is a woman or a man. But I'd think a man.

Hi George. We use Telegram (audio only, because I don't have a good data plan). 10 minutes in Spanish, 10 in English. He's a man in his 30s.

My husband. Text or Skype with my daughter, son in law, and grandchildren. (They live 6 hours away from us.) WhatsApp or Skype or email with my sister and my nephew. (They live in Mozambique.) I call my mother once a week. (She lives in Europe.) Text or call with friends.

My best friend lives in Nevada and calls me nearly every day. I have a standing phone call with one of my sisters every Sunday morning at 10am - sometimes we can chat for 4 hours!!! Otherwise my poor DH has stuck with listening to me chatter on......

Lately, the living circle is small. Face-to-face conversations are with daughter at home and one very talkative kitten 🐈 lol. Texting is with a good female friend, my bestie neighbour.

Outside the home it's acquaintances at various shopping stores. Then we're back home and it's quiet again for a while.

Most of my chatters are here in typing form. I've a cousin and an author friend on Skype but they're both very busy. My cousin I believe, will be chatting more once her brother, which she's caring for currently, will be moving into an elderly care home.

With hubby, when he was alive, we talked about all sorts of plans, made to-do lists and texted whenever he was out for signing and shopping. People always turned their heads as we grocery shopped, as we planned meals and sometimes we'd have people saying to us: "Wow, that's a great meal or dessert ideas..."

Strangely enough, daughter and I have more people speaking to us when we're out these days, which makes it fun again...

Who do I talk with most? I'm not even going to guess.
Everyday I'm out and about to the grocery store (run into about 5 or more folks that stop to say hello), the library (another 3 or so), I visit my former neighbors who became good friends about three times a week. I frequent the Senior Center 2 times a week for a couple of hours, walk in the park and briefly chat with a few locals.
Then when a gal asks to meet for coffee or lunch, well, there's plenty or chatter going on. I phone a friend in Liverpool, England once a week and visit about 50 minutes or so.
Evenings when I'm home I get a call most nights from one of my pals I haven't heard from in a few days, to catch up.
As you can tell, this community is small, I've lived here over 50 years, and made lots and lots of long time friends.
Thank goodness, it keeps me involved.
