Do You Shop With or Without a List?

We have a white marker board on the fridge door that we mark items down that we need. I take a picture of it, and refer to the photo while I'm shopping. Also, lately I've been transcribing the list on the marker board to a Google Doc. I delete each item from the doc as it goes into the shopping cart, makes it simpler to read as I go.

I shop with a list, or I might forget something I want or need. I do a major shop every two or three weeks, so there are too many items to remember without one. Although I pretty much stick to the list, a few other items might find their way into my cart. đź›’

I write things down on the kitchen Blackboard when I run out then scribble them down on a note to remind me .. altho' often I go without the note. Friends write there's on their phone, but I wouldn't be able to read it when I'm in the supermarket, .. it's better in my own handwriting on paper.
I tried using my phone but a good old fashioned list works much better for me too.

Wow, I'm not nearly that high tech, but that sounds like a really good way to go.

Oh yes, I do some browse shopping also. I started my list yesterday and I keep adding, like taco seasoning.

Always have a paper list…..have paper handy, when I see I’m out, write it down….an so on.
But……
I have forgotten my list, panic starts, hate it when I forget.
I sometimes come home with things that aren’t on my list…..tempting treats…..unadvertised special….

I use a list. Go over the ad circulars for the week, make note of loss leaders. Download my digital coupons to my accounts. I also have a running list of things that are getting low so when I do see a deal I can restock the deep pantry. Of course there are things that I buy every week or so, milk, bread, produce.

I see those digital coupons in the stores. But I don't have printer ink right now or a smart phone. So I'm out on those right now. But it's a good idea and I have seen some real deals with those digital coupons.

We have always had a tight budget. I start with a fixed dollar amount. I make a menu to cover a 2 week pay period and then make a shopping list and calendar. I cook from scratch and garden raise a lot of fresh vegies and we eat well. A list is necessary to stay on budget.
That's very diligent and a good idea.

I always use a list unless I forget it. Then it takes me a long time to shop as I go up and down all the aisles trying to remember what was on the list. o_O

I'd forget my list if I didn't keep it right by my purse. I have to be very careful. Or I will forget it.

I keep a paper list going and jot down items I run out of that I want to replenish. On shopping day, usually Sunday morning, I add all the listed items on my phone using as app called Out of Milk. Then I add anything else I want. We go to 2 stores and I have a list for each. The app lets you check them off as you go so nothing gets missed.
