What Didn't You Buy And Why Not?

I decided not to buy the Swiffer Wet Jet after reading some reviews that said it needs batteries and the unit conks out after only a couple of months. I also know that the Swiffer wet pads don't work that well on my bathroom tile, so I decided to make my own "Wet Jet" using a spray bottle and the Swiffer wets. At least if I wind up having to use the mop in the bathroom, I will not have wasted money on the Wet Jet.

I didn't buy a pair of Navy pumps I was looking at on Amazon. I decided that the Navy wedgies I have will suffice. They're real leather, have new heels and I keep them polished, so they look decent even after decades. Plus the ones I have are a darker navy that match my navy outfits better.

I had a WetJet years ago that I ended up throwing out. The pads had to be changed so often and they were expensive. My kitchen is small, but one pad was not enough and it always pushed a line of dirt near the wall that had to be cleaned by hand with a paper towel. I always sweep before I wash, so that didn't help matters. I tried to wash the pads on gentle cycle like someone recommended online, but that didn't work well at all, they are once and done.

I managed to talk myself out of buying a riding mower from Home Depot. Now that I'm back at the homestead full-time I could really use it, for more than just mowing the 5 acres. I had a coupon that I could have used, 24 months of interest free financing, and the payments would have been less than $100 a month. BUT, I'm working so hard to get rid of debt, and I have it all figured out. I can wait until next Spring. I'm proud of myself for not caving in.

An iPhone!

I don't have one and never will have one. They are too intrusive on one's life. I see people setting together in a nice restaurant. They are not talking, not looking into each other's eyes, they are looking at their iPhone and sending/ reading messages from other people. I see people doing it in movies, while driving, etc. etc. How crazy is that...WAKE UP FOLKS!

Plus, I do not want to be available that much. I had to do that when I worked, but no more as I am retired!

I almost bought a new Chevy Blazer last Friday, but they didn’t have the color I wanted. I had 2 choices. I could wait about 90 days to get one shipped in from Mexico, I think the salesperson said or pay $300 to go up to a dealer in South Carolina and pick one up. There aren’t any closer than the one in South Carolina and they wanted me to pay $300 for them to go get it, or pay $525 to have it shipped by closed truck. It wasn’t the money, but the principle. However, now that I have had more time to think about it, I really wanted the Blazer RS, but I want it shipped by closed truck, so I guess I may have to pay the $525. They offered me 5 free oil changes and a free 50,000 mile checkup if I keep it that long. So, I’m up in the air over this.

I'd try another dealer! If the salesperson picks up on the fact you REALLY want what he is selling, they will take you to the bank!

Don't show any emotion, tell the new dealer what you are looking for, if he doesn't have one...walk! Leave your number in case he get's one in...

I will never pay more than 80% of sticker price! I will never pay add on costs, like 'dealer prep fee', undercoating, etc. etc. That is pure profit for them and they will wave it if you stand firm! Never have them order a car for you, as you have no leverage on price.

Or you can just pay what they ask!

I didn't buy shorts I was looking at on the shopping channel. I'm going to take a pair of thrifted jeans I got cheap and shorten them into knee length shorts.

I also didn't look at or consider a mobile for sale because it was in my stepfather's park and I'm not sure I want to live that close to him. I'm wondering if I should let that stop me. It's now pending.

I picked out two blouses online, about thirty dollars each, which seemed high to me, but then everything does. When I got to "check out" the shipping fee was so high it brought the total to $83 so I backed out.

I find it very hard to spend money, I need somebody with me to encourage me. I have almost no clothes but pajamas and t-shirts.
