So, what was it that told you weren't "young"?

Well, if you're a Bonafide member of this senior's group, you aren't planning to go to the prom. You're not 18 anymore. So, what was it that told you weren't "young"?
For me, I can remember the bathroom and day I found grey hairs on my head. Also, I used to say I was 29, even though I was 35. I could get away with that. But eventually, when I said I was 29, and people said, "like hell you are"...............

I've been fortunate to look young for my age all of my life.. therefore I was always kinda dismissed as a 'girl'' most of my adult life.. For example right up until I was about 50.... a Mother who clearly would be younger than me, would say to her child.. let the girl get past... or someone would say.. in reference to something.. ''Pass that over to that girl''....delivery drivers etc would always address me as Miss, it was flattering but annoying at the same time.... when I was in my 20's I lost count of the times I was asked if my mother was home..

When I realised I was no longer young was when the self same people would call me Madam.. or refer to me as The/That Lady...

Just like hollydolly, I guess I have been lucky not to look my age. The last time I was carded to get a beer, I was 23. I was 5-11 at the time and I laughed when the bartender told me I looked 15. He said I had a baby face. I got the genes of looking younger from my mother. She always looked younger than her age. My brother and sisters looked their age. I had 1 brother and 2 sisters.
