So what sort have you got and has it transformed your reading life?

I just replaced my Kindle Oasis with the latest version and it works so much better. I have both paper books and loads on Kindle, it has enhanced and enriched my reading, especially the cheap bargains. The way I can enlarge the font is so good, I actually now reject the real books that are often in tiny print. Life is too short not to have comfort in my favourite hobby.

I can't believe some people, though avid readers, still don't want a kindle.

Just the Kindle app on my smartphone. I used it once, a couple of years ago, to read a friend's memoir.

Although I prefer reading hard copies, I agree that many books have too-small print or difficult fonts. Also, many used books or library books have yellow or brown pages, which add to the problem.

I anticipate that in the future I might want to get a dedicated e-reader. I read in bed, and some books are heavy or awkward to hold.

I had to replace my Paperwhite Kindle with a newer model when they did away with the old 3G networks; they said the old Kindle would no longer be able to wirelessly connect, I'd have to hardplug it into my computer to download books. So I bought a new Paperwhite and it is sooo slowwwww, aargh! (I'm making sure I'm keeping it updated but it's still slow.) I heard that a few months after I bought the new one, Amazon brought out a faster Paperwhite so I should've waited, sigh. Sometimes I feel like they did that on purpose so people'd get frustrated and end buying both.

@Rose65, does your Oasis have a non-bluelight setting? That's why I have the Paperwhite because blue light bothers me a lot. (I keep trying to look it up about the Oasis's but can never find any info about that.)

I am on my 3rd Kindle and love it. I never thought I would get away from hard cover books, but I am now totally Kindle.
It paid off on a 32 day South American cruise. Imagine having to haul enough books.
I follow a number of authors and get an e-mail when there is a new release.
Recently Amazon has got something called Kindle points, which is a credit toward the next book purchase.
I also found a program called Calibre, which can convert different book formats, for example, from Nook to Kindle.

When I was younger, always had a paperback on me, waiting for the next plane due up to load.
You wait a lot in the military, (at least some jobs).
Still love holding a book, but have learned over the years the Content is the most important part
and that is why I read.

How it's delivered to me isn't that important anymore.

Now a kindle goes with me instead of that paperback.

I’ve had a kindle, replaced it with a kobo which still works but now I have an iPad that I read on and I love it. I need to enlarge the letters and love the light that comes with it. Yes I loved holding onto a real book but the typo was usually too small for comfort and wasn’t doing my eyes much good.

I'm mainly using it for bible reading. But have quite a collection also which I'll be getting to one day.

I have the Kindle Fire that I got in 2011. I have books, magazines, music, my photos and docs on it. I use it almost daily. I still occasionally buy a paper book then realized how I don't seem to read them anymore. Too hard to hold or see. I love the Kindle and will stick to that. Though I just ordered three paper cookbooks.

I have had my Kindle Paperwhite for years..can't tell you how many years.. and it is still in as good condition as it was when new...

I've just taken a photo of it a few mins ago... it's on top of my Ipad

I still love Hardback books, I prefer to read them over my kindle tbh...

When I tried to sign in to the Kindle app on my phone recently, I was asked to sign in using my Amazon ID. I couldn't sign in, so I phoned.

They said that since I hadn't ordered from Amazon more than a year, my account had expired. I need to open a new one, but I can't do so from my phone; I have to register from a PC or laptop. Since I don't have a computer, I'll have to do it at the library.

I am going to the library today, so I'll try. I hope nothing goes wrong!

I had an original kindle and loved it so much. When they did away with the 3G networks, I got a Paperwhite and hated it. For Christmas this year I got an IPad, so I put The Kindle app on it and I read from there and love it. I gave the Paperwhite to my daughter.

I listen to free audiobooks using the Libby app through the library. I don't use a Kindle I just really prefer reading a book. I love library book sales and often find large print books there. They also make some nice page magnifiers. Amazon has a lot to choose from, very reasonably priced.

Why did you dislike the Paperwhite ?..It's been consistently voted the best Kindle of all ?

I have the Barnes and Noble version (the Nook) of the e-reader. I have been using the Nook for about 10 years and love
it, especially night time reading utilizing it's back lighting. I got an upgrade about 3 years ago which has improved resolution.

I had a Kindle on my laptop, when I had one. I didn't think much of it. I preferred an actual book.
