Do you do things that other people might think are strange but you think are perfectly normal..?

Do you eat all the chocolate on a biscuit or sweet before you eat the rest..?... or hang Washing out using matching coloured pegs ?.. have you got a strange habit that others think is weird?

I am a number freak.. I count ! When i go for a pee..seriously, I count .. not out loud, but in my head..:ROFLMAO:... I count when I'm waiting for something.. for example a page to change on my computer.. or the kettle to boil if I'm standing waiting for it...and very often I'll count backwards and say start-at 30 or 60 , and if the thing isn't ready ( whatever it is) by the time I reach one..I abandon it...:D

In my bookcase, I have my books in alphabetical order, If I have more than 1 book by same author, put the book in order of when it was published
I've kept track of the books I've read since 2000 in my book journal, make comments whether Iike or disliked it
some people when they first meet me, find it odd I never got my driver's license{have non driver's one} . I tell them I never felt comfortable behind the wheel, saving money by not having a car. I've survived all my adult life without it, I get around either by walking, taking local bus or rides from friends

I'm a bit hung up on symmetry and visual balance. Like, when I make the bed and the coverlet is striped, the stripes have to run perfectly along the edges, and if 4 inches of the blanket hangs from underneath at the top, I make sure there's 4 inches showing all the way around. Some of my friends and family say I have a mild case of OCD. I don't think so. I just like things to look nice and neat.

I suppose 2 things are going on there...I used to paint landscapes, figures, portraits, and still-life's. Especially when painting portraits and figures, you have to focus on symmetry - you don't want one arm to look longer than the other, a lopsided head, or disproportionate hands - and balance is important for a painting's overall appeal.

I don't think that's "weird". I just made my bed, and the spread has to hang 4 inches off the floor on all three sides. I don't know how some people could live with a spread three inches from the floor on one side and five on the other.-heathens!!!!!!!!

We are kindred spirits! I put my books in that order, too, and I didn't start driving until I was 50 and lived in a town with no busses. I was always surprised by the people who acted like driving was an absolute must for everyone, we don't all have to cook or be able to sing, why should we all drive? When I lived in Washington DC I took the bus to the Pentagon everyday and then listened to all my coworkers complain about the traffic, the parking situation and the time it took them from home to work. Why?

I hate the number 4. That house I bought, that was the street number. Chloe, my precious calico died on the 4th. If I'm putting food out for the cats, including the ferals, I can't put out four scoops, I have to add at least a little more.

I hang my clothes out dividing kitchen towels and wash cloths a certain way. Not sure why, they got all washed together.

I'm sure I have way more I can't think of right now.

If I had better book storage room, I'd like to do the same. If I ever move, another bookcase is a must have. Here I have no room for another good large one.

If having unpleasant thoughts, I might speak some nonsense for a moment to break the train of thought.
Wait ... others don't think that's weird, because they never hear it.
I can't even tell you the stuff that runs through my head at work. I get worried and then I have to remind myself that no one can hear what I'm thinking. Sometimes for a moment, I think they can.

I know it's a superstition but I'd never dream of not doing these things just in case it brought bad luck.

if an Ambulance passes me with sirens wailing.. I recite..''touch my collar, touch my knee, hope that never happens to me'' , while doing that very thing even when I'm driving..... and the other is if a single Magpie ( and we have loads here ).. passes me, I have to greet it with Good morning/evening..your Majesty hows' your wife today... ( fortunately I only do it with the first one I see)

Have to do it.. even tho' I know its nuts.. but I daren't not do it.. for fear of dire consequences

I am notoriously difficult to reach by phone. I just don't carry it around with me. I do check messages on occasion. Some people take this personally but it is just me and has absolutely nothing to do with them.

I also do the counting thing. If I am having to wait at a doctor's office I will count the ceiling tiles or the squares on the floor over and over.
