Great video! I understand now why the Titantic broke in half. I had no idea they were built in sections like that and then put together. How in the world did they construct huge ships like that before all the modern equipment? (Rhetorical question.)

That certainly shows how complicated naval architecture can be. My hat is off to the guys that build that stuff. Having said that, sharing a crowded boat with 6,000 other people is not something I would ever want to do.

Almost like building a floating city! If they could integrate biomass into this to grow food and process waste (in separate locations), I think it could be done. Just have to be able to stay clear of the hurricanes and bad storms.

I can't find the link right now but.........My Wife recently pointed out to me a smaller type of cruise ship that offers a year long cruise of 105 cities, for $38,000 UDS per passenger. Not bad, when you consider that you are getting three meals a day, cabin and shore excursions for that price. Once the ship is at sea, no taxes on the booze or the food, can make quite a difference on the costs, versus a hotel on dry land. Some people actually live on ships, switching as the seasons change. With modern electronics at your finger tips, you can invest in the markets, or play international poker live. JimB.

I think they use a hell of a lot of Krazy Glue to keep the sections together. No worries.

It works out to just about $100 a day, for 365 days..........a 10 day cruise from Florida to the eastern Caribbean is about the same price per day. JimB.
