Colour hair or gracefully grey?

I get mine cut and coloured regularly, it rejuvenates me. I did try going grey during covid lockdowns but I just felt uncomfortable and felt ancient. Yet some women look natural and lovely with grey hair. The cut matters I think, a good easy style is important.

Overall, I feel older women look much better than younger ones. In maturity we have found what suits us. We dress better too, paying attention to coordinating, accessories and choosing colours that flatter.

As an aside I'm always fascinated by lady newsreaders and their style of hair and clothes. Some dress so badly it distracts from the news! Others look formal, simple but elegant.

Oh and men - do you go grey or colour? What about bald - I like short or bald heads for men and it seems to be the norm now.

I understand that hair coloring contributes to women's self-esteem and helps them feel good about themselves and the way they look. There's nothing wrong with that, people should do whatever they're comfortable doing, but it's not for me.

I don't color my hair. I'm brunette with very little gray. If I should live long enough to go completely gray, so be it.
I have no intention of ever coloring my hair. Just the thought of upkeep is a turn off not to mention the health implications of using a chemical cocktail on my head.

I don't color my hair, but I hate the color it is. For some reason I went from blonde to an icky muddy brown color and so far I just have a couple of grey strands. I don't think I'd want to go blonde again, but this color I have now is not flattering at all. Once I had my hair highlighted, which turned out nice, but was expensive so not something I'd do on a regular basis. I briefly considered a purple stripe, but my husband would have a cow! :ROFLMAO:

My hair is currently an even mix of dark brown & white. My beard is all white. (And no, the gent in the picture to the left is not me but sometimes it's how I feel. ;))

I view naturally gray/white hair as a sign of experience, endurance, and at least a modicum of wisdom. I've earned my white hair and would never think to color it.

I have my hair colored and trimmed every six weeks. I tried to let it grow out though I didn't have much gray but I didn't like it. From about age thirteen I have colored my hair dark auburn. Now I have it colored a medium brown. It was important to me to keep it looking as natural as possible. It is expensive but it is worth it to me. I keep it in my budget.

My dark brown hair didn't turn grey ... it became completely WHITE.

I had to tone it down by going platinum ... and that is my look forever more - love it
That's sort of me. I was naturally dark brown, then got a thick white streak in the front like Jeni's. I call it my Bride of Frankenstein streak.

So I started putting a Nice 'n Easy Blonde on my hair every few months. It never phased the dark hair, but would turn my white ones blonde as though I had streaks put it. Gradually, as the years went by my "blonde highlights" took over until now I became an all over platinum blonde.

It looks so much better on me than my original dark was looking because I have light skin and blue eyes. If I had tried to keep up the dark brown I would have had to color every other week to keep that skunk stripe down the part away and it would have looked harsh as my skin faded.

There's my hair!

I’m silver grey and light ginger brown. When I did colour I used henna and sported a bright red brown. Once it got to the point where I had to colour my roots every 10 days I stopped colouring. Since my hairs so long it took 6 years for it all to be a natural colour but I do prefer it. It suites my face much more than coloured and is so much less hassle.

White roots look ghastly; I know, I see it often from my 4th floor window. That's why I decided to no longer color my hair. I have white hair, but lucky for me it's a platinum white, not a dull white.
Me too. I couldn’t stand it when my roots would show and within 10 days of colouring they’d show. It wasn’t an easy grow out but I’m glad I did.
