Do You Like Lamb?

I like it, but don't have it very much because:
1) it's a rare find in the local groceries,
2) it's fatty and
3) it's expensive.

This is from a store's web page - 1 pound of ground lamb is over $9, if they even have it.

My mom used to make a sandwich with cold left-over lamb.
My wife likes it and I expect in my Mum's day we could not afford it or made something with it. Beef is better.
Strange, I live in the South of England on the South Downs National Park. It was formed many years ago by grazing sheep, and in later years farmers would walk their flocks 90 miles to Sheep Fairs. Sheep were everywhere once, not now as we buy them from New Zealand as it is cheaper, thousands of miles away.

We both like lamb and have been eating these sirloins we buy at Kroger. My husband charcoal grills them, then we usually have oven roasted fresh cauliflower or brussels sprouts with it. They are pricey, but very good.

I have never had lamb, can you discribe the taste please. For some reason I think it has a very distinctive taste. Thank you!
I wish I could describe it. It doesn't taste anything like pork for instance. More like beef, but still different. A good cut is almost $20 per lb (the sirloin chops) Simply broiled to med rare with a little salt. Nothing else.

Roast leg of lamb stuck with a few slivers of fresh garlic is just wonderful! I wouldn't be opposed to some fresh rosemary.

IMO, Lamb is better without the "pot roast" staples like onions, carrots and potatoes. A side of mashed is ok.

It's a gamey flavour... richer than beef.. not bland like pork.... I have lamb all the time..Lamb chops , lamb roast shank, rack of lamb, Lamb curry .. not minced lamb cuz that's waaaayyy too fatty.. but Lamb is my favourite red meat..over all red meats.. by a long way...

Never overcook Lamb..like steak it should be served pink...

I guess I don't know what "gamey" taste means. The only game I've ever eaten was venison and moose. They taste nothing like lamb.

(In fact, if you didn't know you were eating moose, you'd swear it was beef. At least I was fooled.)
