Hi everyone reading this. Looking forward to investigating all the forums out here. Would love to hear recommendations. l am recently widowed, love the outdoors have a crazy 2 year old labrador so I'm out there doing a lot of walking. Have a very eclectict taste in music love rock, new wave, folk and classical so you will find me listening to anything from Dr Feelgood, Buzzcocks to System of a Down, The Unthanks. Kate Rusby with some Prokoviev, Stravinsky and Vaughn Williams thrown in there. I also love anything crafty. Also like to keep busy with a bit of crafting sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet and had a dabble with Tunisian crochet. Love nature, art and history so love a good wander round a museum or gallery.

Hi there and welcome. I've seen the first three on your music list live. In fact one of them was local to me - and I photographed a blue plaque unveiling on Pete Shelley's bungallow a few years back :)

Saw Buzzcocks not long before he died. It was in a small venue and had a chat with him as he was standing on his own waiting for the support band to come on. It was weird because nobody was talking to him, he was very chatty and didn't tell me to not so politely go away like Mark E Smith did at a gig they did at the same place 😀

Scottish sunshine ? That comes in a liquid form, right ? Greetings from Toronto, a thunderstorm or 2 in the forecast today with a high temp of 33C, and a humidex of "feels like " 40C. The central air conditioning system in our house is quietly running, maintaining a temp of 22 C and the cat is asleep on top of my bed. Wife's sister lives in Motherwell, although all 4 siblings were born and raised in The Bahamas. Now they are spread around, one in Scotland, Wife in Toronto, other sister lives in Edmonton, in Alberta, and one brother died in Nassau last year. JImB.

I just joined myself, about a week or so ago. Biggest problem I have had is learning to navigate the site. So much activity here I get overwhelmed a bit. Or maybe I am just getting too old to grasp it all. 75 years old is far longer than I had planned to live. I am off to the Santa Monica pier today. Many foreign tourists there. The world shows up here from everywhere. Sort of like SF (senior forums). It took me a while to figure out what SF meant. Enjoy your good times here and share with us all you are. Happy day.

Welcome! Good to see another crafter! I've never heard of the Tunisian crochet you've
mentioned. Something for me to look into! I'm sure you will find topics of interest here.

You crochet on a really long crochet hook as you don't drop the stitches with one row. Stitches are denser than crochet or knitting, you can make some lovely and cosy Afghan blankets.
