Hello from someone newly senior(ish)

I'm not sure if I fully fall into the "senior" category. If not, allow me to state my case.

I'm a few months away from 52 and frankly, I'm not adjusting well to getting old. Frankly, I've had it with anyone under 40, there's nothing I like to watch on tv, I'm frequently crabby and my stomach doesn't work like it used to, making me even crabbier. I hope this is enough to be welcomed into the senior community.

As I no longer fit in (or care to fit in) at any of my usual online haunts, I went looking for somewhere new to fit in and landed here and after a poke around the forums I'm looking forward to having some great conversations. I'll probably be in the paranormal threads forum if anyone comes looking for me.

Cheers to all and don't worry, be happy :)

You can call me...

Hey there, Dyspeptic Dee .... and welcome! 🌷 🎉 This community is for anyone over 50 so you certainly do belong/fit in! Just between the two of us (well, the bajillion of us, that is) I'll confess that in my mind, a "senior citizen" is defined as 65 or over, but...) 🤭 Pull up a chair and make yourself at home! @NewlySenior

I know what you mean! When I think "senior citizen" I think of my mother, my grandmother, etc. My mind hasn't fully accepted my senior status other than the irritability, the hot flashes and the rapid deflating of my butt. 🤣

I first joined senior forums when I was 50.... not this forum because it wasn't around then... always looking for good advice from people with more wisdom than me... joined this forum 10 years ago... and still here... at 68

Welcome. You should be warned that there is a penalty for being so youthful. Until someone younger than you joins up, you will be responsible for insuring that the coffee and tea pots are always full and that we never run out of snacks.
we have a couple of 50 year olds here already

Welcome, Dee. My son turned 57 in July and if anyone referred to him as a senior or old he'd be beyond insulted. The fact that he looks like he's in his early 40s, helps his attitude toward aging.

Welcome to this great forum, DD! This will make you feel younger when I tell you that both my daughters are older than you!
Oh lawdy, now instead of being the grump inundated by youngins, I'm now an invading youngin! 😅 Looking forward to learning from my elders!

I'm proud to serve. Who's ready for a top up? :coffee:

Oh and some of the other grandmas make really good scones and stuff.
I've never made scones, but I can make blueberry muffins that will....keep things moving. I'm told that one of my muffins and a large black coffee will clean out even the toughest clogs!
