Are you getting your vaccines this year?

I am getting my Covid vaccine this November and as for the rest of them, I will be getting them as well. I just believe in prevention and staying well. Everyone doesn't look at it the way I do and I respect that.
I can't take the flu shot due to an adverse reaction. When our Covid vax comes out I'll be getting the updated one. I wasn't going to but with the uptick in cases I decided I'd better. Had it twice. Once in Dec of 2022 and then again 4 months later in 2023. A friend of mine is getting an RSV vax on Monday. I am gonna ask my dr about that before I get it. I think it's for 60+.

So we got our flu shot as well as the latest Covid vax.
I am on the fence as to take or not take the RSV vax. I consulted with the pharmacist who told me to take it however, after reviewing articles on it plus reading about the side effects of this vax, I am not sure I want to take it.
What is your opinion/reaction to this RSV vax?

No I won't be having any more.
I only had the initial job for Covid when it was first offered (against my better judgement). Can't remember if that was 2 or 3 years ago
Never had flu jabs nor shingle jabs, and although offered, I won't be having those either.
I've never stopped sanitising the shopping trolleys and still constantly sanitise my hands, especially before and after I've wiped my nose.
When I get home I still sanitise the shopping before I put it away. Then I go out squirt the door handles, the steering wheel, gear stick and indicators
We sanitise carefully still, especially trolley handles.

I got the latest booster, Pfizer, last Wednesday, I was offered
the Flu jab with it, but I declined that as I have an appointment
at my Doctors for that but, mainly because I have heard that
lots of people are feelling nauseous, or actually being sick after
getting both at the same time.

Later I read in the newspaper, that it is mainly women, that it is
affecting, I wonder why.

Mike.

The opposite to me. I find the flu jab just makes me tired, I can cope with that. But I don't want the huge disruptive sick ESS after the covid jab again.
Personal choice and right to choose is vital. We are each so different.

I never get flu shots. I rarely get the flu. The 3 covid vaccines put me in bed for 4 days each really sick so I’m done. My sister had the same reaction but has severe copd so she got it and she didn’t get sick at all.

Nope..never took the flu shot. Passed on the shingles vaccine when I read how low the efficacy was a few years back, choosing to keep my immune system boosted instead. I read that the efficacy is allegedly better now though. My doctor did finally talk me into getting the pneumonia vaccine and I took part two of that a couple of years ago. Finally agreed to get a COVID vaccine but never went back for my booster, especially after I wound up getting COVID anyway. I'm sure immunity from the infection is gone now so I'm mulling over getting the booster.

The first type shingles vaccine had low efficacy. The newer one, Shingrix, is very effective. It’s two shots. When it first came out, individuals had to pay for it privately. Most health care systems are now providing it free for seniors.
Yes, I read about Shingrix here on the forum Jules. Perhaps you were the one that posted about it before...I don't remember. The fact that it's now being offered for free again is good. Back when I considered it, my insurance paid for it...then they had stopped paying for it. Thank you for the info.

We've had all the past Covid vaccines. We're getting the most updated Covid vaccine on Sunday because we leave for Europe at the end of this month. We went to Canada and New England last month and I've never heard so many people sounding like they were going to hack up a lung. Covid is still out there for sure.

Yes, we had Shingrix as well. I had a boss who was in his late 50's, was completely healthy and was out for a couple of weeks. He said it was the most painful experience he had ever endured.
