This is the link to it: 65 and older Eligibility RequirementsI understand what you're saying.
I'm already getting my social security income though. This is the link to it: 65 and older Eligibility Requirements
Thank you such a nice reply.Im sure it must be scary... I presume you have no relatives or friends who could house you ?... I hate to hear of homelessness... if you had the money I'd tell you to jump in a plane and come here...
How long have you been homeless?..
This is in addition to Social Security if it is low. It is based on being over 65 and having a low income. Plus if you qualify then you automatically get medicaid and SNAP.I'm already getting my social security income though.
I had SSI at one point and Medicaid but then I started getting my own social security and with that if I were to keep Medicaid. I'd have to do a spend down because I was like $100 over the limit. or $100. Now I'm over the limit. and I don't want to do a spend down because it would cost more than what I'm paying for my health insurance I have now. there's always fine print and I've researched it all. Thank you thought. This is in addition to Social Security if it is low. It is based on being over 65 and having a low income. Plus if you qualify then you automatically get medicaid and SNAP.
yesWhen your companion died, Theresa, is that how you became homeless?
Thank you. Oh, my goodness, that's what I've been doing Exactly what I've been doing. Going crazy all over the Internet.. Thank you for your reply.I'm not sure where you're located but first thing I would do is start Google searching senior advocates, office for older adults, local senior programs, senior centers, senior help. Anything and everything senior related where you may find help, you need to advocate for yourself without delay. Heck even check local churches, sometimes they can help.
Best wishes to you.
Thank you. I have looked into those things too.I am very sorry to hear about your situation.
Could you possibly get a job working for a small apartment complex, or a church, or a storage unit facility that could give you an apartment (or a room) as well as a little cash for your services?
Exactly all the above.I can understand the dilemma..it's one thing being homeless when you're young but when you're a senior, maybe even past retirement age.. it's difficult t get a job... or even be able yourself to be a live-in carer for someone else... which can be a very stressful and tiring job.. who wants that in their 60's...?...
Thank you very much.So sorry to hear of your troubles. Lots of good advice from the folks on here. All I can do is hope and pray things get better for you.
What about trying to team up with someone and share the expenses. For ex. Trying to find a couple or individual who would be willing to rent you a room in their house or apartment? Or be a caregiver for someone and get room and board? Perhaps finding someone through the church?
I don't know how difficult it would be for you.. not being in the USA myself.. but would it be possible for you to move to a different ...cheaper State ?..I'm absolutely sure you've thought of everything. but just trying to think of things for you..Thank you. I have looked into all those things. I've been very busy here.
Well, just hang out here for company! We'll try to get your mind on other things & keep you amused.Thank you. I have looked into all those things. I've been very busy here.

So sorry no one can help you. No aid programs for the homeless? No senior aid programs? No shelters? No benefit programs? No churches even? That's unheard of... what reason are they giving you besides you having too much money?Thank you. I have looked into all those things. I've been very busy here.
