Were ?... you talk like we all worked in Wall street and we're all now dead...When the Boomers were young they were all about peace, love and fairness. Then they all grew up and went to Wall Street and screwed everybody over. That is why they are viewed with such distain by the next generations...they were all a bunch of phonies.
I think "hindsight is better than foresight" as the old saying goes. That has layers of meaning. It can mean something for an individual, and it can mean something for humanity. The Gens seem to think Boomers created all the problems that exist or ever did with their generations. It's easier to point the finger than to look inside themselves for self-awareness and insight.
I must be the only person on the planet who didn't know it existed. Like... why? What seems to be the problem?!
No population is unanimous in their opinions, but there are general trends, and a vast difference in the generations. You can even hear it in their voices. You want to see them foam at the mouth? Say, 'Donald Trump'. Try it, it's fun.Come on, do you really think humans are all that much different if you were born in 1946, or 1964, or 1986, etc. There are no such things as "generations" like Boomers, Silents, etc. People are born continuously. Do people born on December 31, 1964, all behave and think like Boomers? And those, who were born on January 1,1965; all behave and think like GenXers. The concept of "generations" is a generalized, unverifiable, parlor game, like seeing faces in clouds.
Really? I must have missed the train. What gen are you? When the Boomers were young they were all about peace, love and fairness. Then they all grew up and went to Wall Street and screwed everybody over. That is why they are viewed with such distain by the next generations...they were all a bunch of phonies.
Go to Reddit and search “boomer hate.” There are several sub Reddits. You don’t have to join to read the posts. Is there a source or example of Boomer Bashing that someone can point to?
I don't live in a bubble by any means, but I'm just not seeing it.
I do see countless instances [here] of Gen X, Millennials & Gen Z bashing...![]()
Why is that funny? Check out “boomer hate” on Reddit.Boomer hate!!!
That’s funny.
Not just Boomer Bashing but all the cr@p extolling the virtues of Gen X, Millennials (aka Gen Y), Gen Z.
JFTR, I'm part of the Silent Generation.
Boomers? Geez, I don't know any Boomers who have avocado green appliances, (faux) wood paneled rooms, shag carpet, kitchen carpet, landlines and the whole nine yards of "undesirable" home decor. Then there are the articles that insist on what not to wear, how to style themselves (including hair!) so as not to look like Boomers. All those articles we see about such? Dollars to donuts they've been written by Gen X or Gen Y.
I also don't know any Boomers who are wrinkled, flabby, old crabby-looking women, balding men who are equally as crabby looking and flabby, or who don't just look crabby but really are.
My take on Boomers is that they're fit, friendly, stylish, tech savvy, and not likely to hang onto useless stuff for their kids to inherit.
Gen X, Gen Y, Gen Z? The ones who are old enough to have kids enroll them in everdamnthang whether the kids want to be involved or not. They run themselves and their kids ragged from this lesson to that, practice for whatever whenever. Lord only knows when they relax, have fun, sleep or eat a meal cooked at home while sitting down together and discussing their days.
If most of what I read is so, these over-achieving Gens are in credit card debt up to their eyeballs, have personal coaches for fitness, lifestyle and even job hunting. They're financially and emotionally exhausted and way too many have jobs they loathe but that pay so much they can't leave...yanno because that boat, that big house, those new or recent-model cars and those lessons for the kids cost big bucks.
Whatever on earth did the Silents and the Boomers do without all of the above? We survived in the world we had. The Gens? Seems to me that they're more inclined to keep up with the Joneses than the Silents and Boomers ever were.
Flame away!
ETA: I forgot to mention therapy. The Gens? They're in therapy. Not a clue about insight, personal problem solving, logic...therapy. Gotta wonder if their therapists are Boomers![]()

You and me both, never once heard any kind of insult. It could be that the decade extolled by baby-boomers, namely the sixties, I didn't get that involved in. Watching The Beatles in a dance hall or theatre accompanied by a cacophony of hysterical screaming just didn't appeal. The Swingtime Era from the early twenties through to the mid fifties and the rise of Elvis is a period that I have always enjoyed. The music, the fashions and the dancing, I have always loved it, still do.Is there a source or example of Boomer Bashing that someone can point to?
I don't live in a bubble by any means, but I'm just not seeing it.
Generally, the younger generations prefer us dead. It is not amusing.I don't live in a bubble by any means, but I'm just not seeing it.

You're taking the saying out of context. It was in reference to our generation's war that took tens of thousands of our beautiful young men. We didn't care how our elders felt and the smart ones just laughed. As I recall, we were the generation who embraced the ugly motto, "Never trust anyone over 30." Wonder how that made our elders feel?
Boomer bashing is especially evident in the universities. The only time I hear Boomer bashing is on the internet,
0ur children and grandchildren are entitled to their moments in the sun.
