Okay, okay, I'll tell you myself!@Pepper So you're gonna keep us in suspense!![]()
What a lovely compliment, thank you. Our doctor, we call them GP's general practitioner, our doctor is a real snazzy dresser. A bow tie everyday, sometimes a suit, often though, he prefers a blazer and plain coloured trousers. Doctor never actually says anything, but you can tell just from expression and body language that he is impressed that at least one of his patients takes a pride in appearance. I was impressed that he knew my hat is a Fedora. Those funeral cards (sometimes on the back of obituary programs) have some comforting messages. I like the one you posted HC. Also I like your new profile pic...nice!![]()
Now, Holly, you know there are those who would care. I guess I would have to give my son my log-in, but, he's so busy all the time, he forgets almost anything that isn't related to his work.you mean no-one here or dya mean in RL ?
Actually Lois I was asking Llynn what he meant... ..by his comment...Now, Holly, you know there are those who would care. I guess I would have to give my son my log-in, but, he's so busy all the time, he forgets almost anything that isn't related to his work.
I have asked about her twice and no one has responded to either of my inquiries.Just wondering if anyone has heard from Gaer recently. Hasn't answered my email. Hope she is fine.
Sorry to learn that rkunsaw passed away. I did get a kick out of the outhouse he decorated and showed us online.I was just looking through my Facebook Friends and discovered that another longtime member here, @rkunsaw, recently passed away, on October 23, 2023. I am posting a screenshot of part of his Obit, and it says that his wife, Brooke is still alive. You may remember that she had had a stroke, alzheimers, and then had a bad fall, which ended her up at the nursing home near where they lived in Arkansas.
I know that he has a lot of friends here on the forum, but I didn’t find any thread about his passing, so I am adding it here.

That’s one of my favourite poems. When I was nine years old I stood alongside my father at my mother's funeral. Mother was just 34, Father was inspirational. Back at home with him and my siblings, Dad gave me a small card with a message on it. That card and it's message has been in my wallet and my heart all my life. My father lived on and didn't die until he was 92. Between his death and mother's I have stood at a funeral and wept more times than I care to remember, then, having dried my eyes, Dad's card comes out and I read the message aloud:
Don't cry for me now I have died, for I'm still here I'm by your side,
My body's gone but my soul is here, please don't shed another tear,
I am still here I'm all around, only my body lies in the ground.
I am the snowflake that kisses your nose,
I am the frost, that nips your toes.
I am the sun, bringing you light,
I am the star, shining so bright.
I am the rain, refreshing the earth,
I am the laughter, I am the mirth.
I am the bird, up in the sky,
I am the cloud, that's drifting by.
I am the thoughts, inside your head,
While I'm still there, I can't be dead.
So, if you ever see that message, say a prayer for me, then smile, and know that I can still read this forum.
Your plan is very considerate T60...thank you for including us in it.My wife is not internet savvy and is not interested in learning, so I cannot depend on her to notify if I pass. I am glad this post came up as I now have a plan to notify folks on this website.
I have three adult kids, two that live in our area and one that is a day's drive away. My wife and I have our Will all taken care of, but I have been thinking about preparing a written note to my family. In it will be personal notes to my wife and kids including what I want to be done with my body, what personal items
I want to see each of my kids and/or grandchildren get. And who I want to be notified of my death including death notices in newspapers. I will also include the information about this website and ask that one of my kids notify this group of my passing. I will also write my own obituary, but of course freeing my wife to change it in any way she may like.
I suggest each of you consider something like this, as I too have many folks on here that i have followed for years. I will want to hear if something happens to them.
