Your very favorite photos from out in nature or gardens, your own or borrowed

This may not be appropriate here, but it is a nature item I very much loved and cherished. I had been given this beautiful Bonsai Pine Tree. I had it for 15 years...

We'd packed it carefully on our last trip after completing husband's last work contract. Sadly, when we unpacked everything, it wasn't there anymore. Box 15 on the list had been scored off. We never found out why or how? To this day, I miss that wee tree...😢

Just curious if you still make a garden and what gardens you like to visit. I imagine the Missouri bot garden has to be right up there. I know it is one of the most highly thought of public gardens in the country. Still on my bucket list.
Yes, but nothing close to the caliber of your garden. I like tropical plants, so in Missouri I do mostly potted plants that don't survive the winter. I typically winter in Naples Florida but don't have any plants as I live in a condo. If I owned a home in Southwest Florida it would be ideal for the type of garden I enjoy, but I'm only there 4 months out of the year.

I do love Missouri Botanical Garden and also Naples Botanical Garden, their both real treats. I have a yearly membership at NBG as it is just a couple miles away from my condo and I go there to walk quite often when I'm there.

It is very nicely formed and impressive. Are there gardens near you where you can view bonsais? It might help you cope with the loss. I hope you reported the loss. The valuation could be very high.

We got screwed by movers, they never added insurance so we just lost it.

I've a garden centre close by but they've no pines and believe me, I've been searching for nearly 30 years. I took care of that. I also was left a message on phone answering machine that it had been destroyed by customs...but no explanation as to why. We'd got it in Nova Scotia...

I am so sorry, something like that is not replaced instantly if at all. I visited the Lakeside Garden Center in Oakland, California where we were given a tour of an incredible collection of bonsai trees. Looking online I can't find any of the photos I took but on my photo hosting site I found this one:

It says there are over 40 bonzai trees on this one slab. Some of them were pretty amazing but yours compared favorably.

I went to Youtube and found this video about the place where the Bonzai club meets at this Oakland Lakeside Garden Center. The first half minute shows someone arriving by plane to Oakland and then arriving at the this garden the next day but at a speeded up rate. Then it goes on to interview people working on their trees and talking about what it means to them. If you're interested in that you can zip through first 20-30 seconds.
