Received another card for the former residents

This happened last year, but this is from a different sender. I called the former owner telling her what happened, and she said, "Throw it away." This seems like a cavalier attitude to people that thought enough to send a card. She finally agreed to come and get it, but wouldn't commit to any particular time, so I said I'd leave it on the front porch. It's still there, but I'm not surprised - she may not be in a holiday mood - her mother passed last week.

I don't have the former owner's address any more. If it comes here yet, decades later, I take the money out and throw the rest away. So far, no money.

What to do? What to do? What to do? What to do? Oh my What to do?

The answer. Mystery solved Deb knows.

She did this.

Open it and use it for something useful. If it's pretty, display it.
That's what I'd do because the person who sent it doesn't deserve for it to be thrown away like someone's old garbage.
So there @Knight! 😋 😊

I go ahead and open mail that comes to the previous owner here, I figure that way if it is unimportant mail (always is so far) I feel comfortable throwing it away, and if it would turn out to be something important I'll pretend I accidentally opened it before noticing the name.

Is it a federal crime to open someone else's mail? The short answer is “yes.” Opening or destroying mail that is addressed to someone else is a crime called “Obstruction of Correspondence.” It is a serious felony that could lead to prison time

So there @hearlady

It’s still illegal though .
