What's your favourite comfort food ?

If you didn't have to make it.. and all your favourite foods were lined up in front of you, which one would you read for first ?
We try to balance our meals so meat meals are not everyday. But there is one meat meal that I could easily enjoy daily. It's the Italian recipe known as Bolognese. Sandwiched between lasagne sheets of pasta it's lovely, served up with spaghetti it's delicious, but with the pasta ribbons of tagliatelle, it's just superb:

Comfort food - as on a winter's day? Probably mince and macaroni - my mum used to make it and it really does warm you up. Favorite food though would be smoked salmon, fresh baked bread, salad and gherkins. :)
Oh my goodness..I'd totally forgotten about Mince & Macaroni. Not that my mother made it.. but I had it as a teen in other people's homes..

Tuscan Ribollita Soup, just like my grandma used to make. 😋

Ribollita vegetable and bean soup served up in two bowls and topped with crusty bread, grated parmesan and fresh sprigs of thyme.

I must try that... I've never had Baharat spice... are the cloves obvious in it..? I don't like cloves
I don't think the cloves are obvious. Actually, these are the ingredients so if you have the spices already or use them a lot, you could make your own baharat mix and leave the cloves out. It's quite pungent so you don't need to add much. I am a big fan of Baharat spice. :)

INGREDIENTS: paprika, ground coriander, ground black pepper, ground cinnamon, ground cumin, cayenne pepper, ground cloves, ground nutmeg, ground cardamom.

ah...yes... I do have all those, so I may just give that a go.... (y)

In cold winter months I find comfort in creamy soups that I make myself and I don't mind doing it. Usually I avoid creamy dairy rich soups, but in extreme cold, the creamier the better. Yesterday I made a super creamy chicken, cauliflower and potato cheddar soup. This is going to provide much comfort in coming days as the temperature plummets.
