OJ Simpson has died at 76 after short cancer battle

Oh wow. I can think of no other famous celebrity in my lifetime who had such a chaotic and disturbing life. I am sure there were others but for me, he comes first. I was a huge fan of his when he played at USC and for the Bills. He was one of my favorite players at the time and one of the best runs I have ever watched was a run by him on MNF. Then he started his commercials and the Naked Gun movies and enjoyed him doing those.

And then everything else happened and it just seem so surreal after that. Obviously he was not the man many thought he was . Great football player but a horrible person.

I feel the same. I tried so hard to believe him at first but, well, he won't rest in peace I guess.

Basically my thoughts.

So much came out of that murder case and subsequent events. He was on the road to becoming a celebrity icon and petty jealousy probably did him and victims in. At least 2 other people are resting in peace now

THANK YOU TO THE UNIVERSE!
Now, if I have to put up with Wolf Blitzer saying, "May his memory be a blessing" I am probably going to start an online campaign asking CNN to please fire Mr. Blitzer.

O.J. should have died in prison. Thank you to the universe for taking care of what Los Angeles could not.

I'm already hearing CNN reporters saying the NFL expresses their condolences!

It's not bad enough that the NFL ignored CTE for so long - now they offer condolences over the loss of a double-murderer.

I think reporters should be covering this story from the cemetery where Nicole Brown Simpson lies dead in her grave, never having seen her children grow up, never having been around to protect them from their insane father.

I can think of serial killers who had such a life.

Heard this on the radio driving to grocery shopping. I don't think Mr. Blitzer will stoop that low.

My first and second thoughts: Wonder how the afterlife is working out and the victims family, I hope are relieved.

Sad to say what's been exposed or been going in the NFL since ie criminal behavior OJ's apparent rage is akin to some of the drug dealing, gang type activity of players over the years. There's also the domestic abuse issues.

Like it or not he did have an extraordinary career that I get. The good that came out of the trial in it's own way brought some kind of justice to many including exposing things like testilying, incompetent or corrupt forensic labs, the need and lack of a vigorous criminal defense for many. And it brought out some domestic abise issues that were frequently buried or quickly died as a story.

The victims or families didn't get formal legal justice but they got it now

I'll never forget a poll at the time showed that quite a few people believed that his football career proved he couldn't have committed the murders. I enjoy sports myself, but we need to remember that being good at a game is way down on the list of ultimate virtues and pick our heroes a little better.

I hope his final days with cancer taught him humility, remorse and repentance.

I met and played golf with OJ in 2000. I wasn’t aware that he was in the tournament I was playing in. But, in conversation, he seemed like a decent person. I don’t like passing judgment, but I do have my own opinion and I keep it to myself.

It’s always a shame when someone dies from cancer. This is a disease we have thrown billions of dollars at and yet still no cure, except for a few low grade cancers and sometimes, if found earlier enough, it can be defeated.

Repeating what a FB friend said "Bet that glove fits now" . Have never been less proud to be a Bills fan
The Bills have had a great and storied history in the NFL (and AFL). I hope that you won't allow this horrible man ruin that for you.. What upset me is that the Heisman committee released a statement honoring his death. This is the same committee that took away a Heisman award from Reggie Bush for some recruiting violations that was happening everywhere at the time.

Well... yes, it is. But it's also a shame getting stabbed in the head and neck numerous times while your children are sleeping nearby. As a side note, Kato was asked to comment on the death today, and he used the statement to honor Nicole and Ron Goldman and offer love and compassion to their families.

I blame the judge- Lance Ito for allowing the defense attorneys to get away with such theatrics. However, the prosecution totally dropped the ball by not pointing out the painfully obvious: that the blood saturated leather glove is not going to fit well after it dried and shrank, particularly being tried on over an exam glove...shrug.gif

Looks like OJ couldn't find the real killer on any golf course in the world so he's gone to look on the golf courses in hell maybe.
... or maybe goD will tell him who the real killer was šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
