Cilantro didn't always taste like soap

Not going to watch the entire video even though I'm curious about the bugs. I don't like cilantro. It doesn't taste soapy to me, it tastes bitter.

We love cilantro. I like the herby flavor when it's in pico di gallo. I've tried dried cilantro, but it doesn't taste the same. I don't have any problem with other dried herbs.

Why Does Cilantro Taste Like Soap to Some People?

Seems this is caused by a gene and is relatively rare.

It doesnt taste like soap to me either.

Cilantro (known as coriander in Australia) - I quite like it.

I only have to hear the word Coriander and I feel nauseous. When I watch cooking shows and they add a handful of it to dishes, I think to myself, if I was in a restaurant I'd say hold the herbs, it spoils the whole dish.

I love the taste and the smell of cilantro; but I hate the smell of stink bugs !
They smell nothing like cilantro to me.
However, here is an odd thing. When we have a stink bug sneak into our house because we have a door or window open, they will invariably fly over to me and land in my hair, or try to crawl up my leg when I am sitting down.
I use a lot of cilantro, so maybe I smell like a comrade-spirit to them if they think that stinkbugs and cilantro smell the same way ?

I don't taste soap.. ..I love it.. it's called Coriander here .... it's delicious..

Oh nope, don't like cilantro at all...it doesn't taste like soap to me, but whatever it tastes like, it does not appeal to me.
