His Dudeness' Recent Movie Watches

Destroy All Monsters English - Try that link. It's for the AIP (American International Pictures) version of the movie.

I can grab the trailers from Youtube, but there are cases where they won't play every once in a while off-site. The pictures allow me to keep everything synchronized size-wise and the direct link that opens a fresh page works 100% of the time.
Again, I thank you so much❣️ I know I'm going to enjoy it.

If there is a specific movie that you or others are wanting to watch but is not on a streaming service, just let me know. I have a unique talent of finding free access for films online, even for those extreme niche movies like The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh or The Last Chase with Lee Majors.

Based on the life accomplishments of Sean Porter in his conversion of how under-aged gang members were rehabilitated and freed from their previous servitude to the streets. Turning losers into winners, via the football field, was his goal and his success rate for changing the paths of young men was about 75%; a fantastic improvement over previous administrators. How nice of you to offer to do that ❣️ Funny you mention Fish That Saved Pittsburgh. My son and I saw it in the movies and enjoyed it. We were just talking about the movie a couple of weeks ago. I loved this song so much that I bought the soundtrack album. BTW...I'm a Pisces too. :)

The Alamo (1960)

maxresdefault.jpg

THE ALAMO (1960) | Official Trailer | MGM

John Wayne’s directorial debut, he picks a topic that is the Texan equivalent to 9/11. The defense of the Alamo against the superior forces of the Mexican Army has always held a place dear to American’s hearts. John Wayne (Davey Crockett), Richard Widmark (Jim Bowie) and Richard Boone (Sam Houston) all play leading roles in this historic retelling. This 3.5 hour saga receives much criticism, but it brings the historic figures to life and gives one an insight to what these heroes might have experienced during their final days. It gets an 8 out of 10.

Narc (2002)

maxresdefault.jpg

Narc (2002) Official Trailer - Ray Liotta Movie HD

Probably the best movie of 2002 that nobody actually saw. A hard-hitting, realistic look at the undercover police world with a bitter taste of the cases that they work. Jason Patric and Ray Liotia play the parts of two Detroit police offers tasked with bringing the killers of a fellow undercover officer to justice.

Dark, gritty and overwhelming, Narc doesn’t sugarcoat law enforcement but somehow keeps the experience real without turning the opinion of the viewer against the officers, who often bend the rules as far as they can without going over the edge.

Excellent drama, along with some very realistic dialog and some top-notch acting brings this title to the forefront of its niche. I guarantee you won’t figure out “who done it” until the very end. Definitely not a date night movie, or something to watch while the kids are around, but something perfect for a rainy afternoon flick with the guys. An 8 out of 10.

Xanadu (1980)

maxresdefault.jpg

Xanadu Official Trailer #1 - Gene Kelly Movie (1980) HD

This movie had everything possible going for it. Olivia Newton-John was the hottest Hollywood commodity going. Gene Kelly was the king of musicals. ELO was one of the hottest bands at the time and developed a whole new soundtrack just for the movie. Finally, it looked to capitalize on the hottest trend of roller skating. The movie had big production musical sets, a quality script and some of the freshest special effects seen in the industry. Yet somehow this movie bombed harder than just about any film in history. Nevertheless, it still gets a 7 out of 10.

Martin and Stewart are brothers on the run from a town sheriff (Kennedy) for robbing a bank and killing bystanders. Welch is picked up along the way to be used as a hostage if necessary. Both the posse and the gang must join forces when attacked by Mexican bandoleros in an abandoned town. Bullets fly and bodies drop in the standard western formula. A 7 out of 10.

@RadishRose I had seen Jeff Bridges in something else, but he made a fan out of me during his performance in Starman. I think I saw that movie three times, so obviously, like you...I love it. If he wasn't the star of the series The Old Man (FX & Hulu), I probably never would have watched. It started out slow but turned out to be quite good. I'm looking forward to S2.

@His Dudeness I also watched Scream Blacula Scream at least three times. William Marshall (Blacula) was a magnificent man....his appearance, his voice, the way he spoke, his stature and of course, his talent. 😍 This is from one of the Blacula films. BTW, did you see Blacula?

And this poster is one of the reasons I wanted to see Unstoppable. Chris Pine...not Denzel. 😍 At the time, I didn't know who Chris Pine was.

The photo is from the 2nd film. Pam Grier is standing to his right. And yes, I have seen Blackula...excellent campy horror. However, the first time I ever saw William Marshall was in the original Star Trek Series The Ultimate Computer (24th episode of the 2nd season). He had a very Shakespearian style of delivery.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023)

maxresdefault.jpg

MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS | Official Trailer (2023)

Before Legendary Pictures assumed production of the Godzilla series, they had created an original franchise called Pacific Rim. In it, Kaiju (Giant Monsters) came through a portal deep in the Pacific Ocean to attack mankind and ravage cities within the ring of fire. Mankind created Team-Driven Mechs to combat these creatures.

As time progressed, the Kaiju increased in size and power and pushed the Mechs to their operational limit. While watching this movie, I thought of a great opportunity to where the invading Kaiju would overwhelm the mechs and the world would face complete destruction. It would be at that point that the Toho Guardian Monsters (Godzilla, Mothra, King Caesar and Baragon) would appear and save the day. Somebody at Legendary obviously has my house bugged as this series is exactly what I thought would be a great idea.

A cinematic bridge between Legendary’s Godzilla and Kong movies, this 10 episode show evolves the series and adds a new dimension to the Godzillaverse. We now have a new understanding on where the Kaiju exist - in an alternative plane - and that Godzilla is a guardian to keep humanity and the Kaiju separated in their own planes of existence.

This series is built specifically for the non-Kaiju fan. It fixes all of the complaints of those who went to the Godzilla movie and were disappointed with the results. The human character development is extremely in-depth, in which individual histories are over exposed. Everything you would want to know about individuals are covered extensively. A homosexual element is also included, because Gen Y and Z can’t connect with any media release without a relationship of this nature incorporated in the storyline (even though it adds nothing to the actual story). This was obviously only included to pander to a special interest group.

Kaiju Fans will be extremely disappointed with the production. Monster appearances are extremely rare and the only minor conflict between the titans happens in the final episode. Everything is focused on the human interaction on how Monarch becomes and how it progressed. Nevertheless, the acting is top notch. The story plays and is believable. The time swaps between the 50s and current time keeps viewers on their toes and involved in the story. I enjoyed the experience, but just like Legendary’s Godzilla (2014) I felt that there needed to be more Godzilla included in the Godzilla Show. Nevertheless, the series gets an 8 out of 10 simply for the development of the G-Verse.

"He had a very Shakespearian style of delivery." Yes, that's because he honed his skills in the theater, with several roles in Shakespear's plays.

"Marshall made his Broadway debut in 1944 in Carmen Jones. In 1950, he understudied Boris Karloff as Captain Hook in the Broadway production of Peter Pan. He played the leading role of De Lawd in the 1951 revival of The Green Pastures, a role he repeated in 1958 in a BBC telecast of the play.[3][5] He performed in several Shakespearean plays on the stage in the U. S. and Europe, including the title role in at least six productions of Othello. Harold Hobson of the London Sunday Times praised Marshall’s portrayal as "the best Othello of our time."[6]

The Boss’ Wife (1986)

The Boss' Wife Trailer 1986

Starring a bunch of people whose names you won’t recognize…with Martin Mull and Christopher Plummer in supporting roles. This comedy(?) really scrapes the bottom of the barrel. Obviously intended as a break out production for most of the cast, it falls flat with little to offer for the viewer. It gets a 4 out of 10.

Caveman (1981)

maxresdefault.jpg

Caveman (1981) ORIGINAL TRAILER [HD]

Ringo Starr, Dennis Quaid and Shelly Long lead an awesome cast in an intensive examination of mankind’s past. Before there was fire, before there were civilizations, the caveman struggled for daily existence in this comic adventure. Don’t Zug Zug yourself by missing this forgotten gem. A 7 out of 10.
