I loved the early EWF...they were much funkier and are still one of my favorite bands. This was the first album I bought by them in 1974. "Handwriting" is one of my favorites by them before they hit it big. It contains what I call a "guitar gasm". Click on Watch on YouTube to hear it.

 
These are the first songs that delighted my little ears and I feel they are responsible for me being so into music. I was about 4 years old and at my grandmother's house. Uncle Freddie, who had quite a collection, was playing his 78s and I remember being so excited about this music and dancing around.


I had the honor of meeting Ruth Brown many years ago when she appeared at Trumpet's Jazz Club. I requested this song, but she said she no longer performed it. Unfortunately every YT version cuts of a very crucial piano part about two bars at the very end.


I still listen to these songs quite often.
 
Oh, Diva I love that Clovers song! I can just picture you dancing to that at age three!
The rhythm makes me think of this song that I play to relax myself when needed:
