Julian Assange released from prison

He had a point I thought. Journalists are supposed to report the truth and expose corruption. But when the media is used to mobilize a population against a specific person or region with regime change in mind then one must ask oneself some serious questions.

Assange revealed some (very) uncomfortable truths. It appears we learned nothing from it, because we know that similar things are going on today, and we leave it in the dark. As it stands today, you don't need traditional media to mobilize people against a person of cause - that happens daily on Social Media. Again, far too many people suck it up and react without much thought - or worse, with total conviction just because.

What I'm saying is, the Assange case asks a lot of questions. Not only is his legal issue directly of interest and importance, but it's in the way people - not the media, but everyday people - are led around by the nose by things they read on Social Media and, frankly, gossiping. As a race, we really ought to raise the bar and welcome someone questioning the validity of what we read and see. Instead of that, we gather with pitchforks and attack the messenger, and not the message.

I remember his brother saying he was in a very poor state, very weak and mental health conditions. When he got off the plane, I was shocked to see how well he looked. Apparently, the plane that brought him to Australia came at the cost of $800 thousand dollars and now they have set up a "Go Fund Me Page" to raise money via us to pay for it. . No thank you very much, I can name some very worthy people that can use that much money for a better cause.

why would that little plane cost $800,000 k?.. and who paid for it ?

He certainly looked well when released.
Yes, he was crook whilst serving his time.
Depression would have had a lot to do with his health and well being.
yes I agree, he was very likely deeply depressed, who wouldn't be in his situation, not knowing if he'll ever be released, or face a life sentence... separated from his wife and family.. but he's out and he seems fine...

Were there actually any US spies that were outed? I have always wondered about this. I don't know what damage he actually did. I read a lot of embarrassing things about government officials that he made public. I have no problem with that. But if people were harmed, that would make a difference to me.
