Three season porch - do you have one?

I'm glad to have found this thread too. I'm all for it; nothing renews quite like being in nature. Where I am I take for granted being outdoors four seasons though ducking back under cover in the rare down pour. Winter is one of my favorite seasons, kind of like early spring when some plants start to respond to the rains when they finally come. The challenge to plants here is draught resistance as I am stingy with the hose.

That is going to be beautiful. You will love it. I have a good size sunroom and deck but each could use some updating. My front porch is small but great for people watching and l like having a roof for rainy days Most anything is good for three seasons in the south.

In Perth we have 6 seasons, every couple of months it morphs into the next.
If you are curious search for Noongar seasons.

Pretty interesting: http://www.bom.gov.au/iwk/calendars/nyoongar.shtml

Assuming our calendars would be offset by 6 months lets see how that would correspond for me in Califonia.

Nyoonger Calendar .../... California Calendar

1st Summer, Mosaic burning time ...Dec - Jan... Winter, rains and cooler bring on soil fecundity

2nd Summer, Coast living/ fishing time ...Feb - Mar... Early spring, flowers start

Autumn, ant season & house repair ...Apr - May... 2nd spring, flowers abound

Winter, move inland/ time of plenty ...Jun - Jul... Early summer, warmer and dry

First Spring, flowers start ...Aug - Sept... 2nd summer, fire season

Second Spring, flowers abound ...Oct - Nov... Autumn, leaf fall, foliage renewal

Have to say it fits us pretty well. Thanks.

Yesterday, the flooring people came and installed the vinyl plank flooring. Today, the guy came and installed the shoe molding, painted the trim around the windows (semi-gloss), and painted the door with gloss. All white. The reason I chose white is because I can use any color combination in there. The next few days, they will wrap up the rest of the work. I started end of May, so it took a little bit over a month. I am sending a snapshot of one angle of the room. The right side is the same and has the door.

By the way, the sound in the room echoes beautifully, so I might play music in here.

Now, I have a favor to ask you. If this were your sunroom, how would you furnish it? Think about furniture, carpeting, paintings, etc. I have no clue where to begin. I do plan to put my plants in here, though. Maybe grow some seedlings. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! If you have any links to share, that would also be appreciated!

I can either use what furniture I have now (mostly dark!), or go all out and buy new lighter furniture (that will take time, though). I do have some plastic chairs I've used outside that I can bring in for now. Note, the sun has not reached the house yet, which means the room is cool in the mornings. You can probably tell I'm feeling excited.

This is the latest update on the sunroom. Outside, the vinyl siding and gutters are all installed. On the inside, the windows were installed a few days ago. Today, they built the frames that encase the windows. I've decided to go with ultra white color and egg shell. Still waiting on the vinyl planks to arrive. This was the best shot I could take since they left all these materials in the room. Note, the light at the top of the ceiling is a reflection from the light inside the kitchen.

Absolutely beautiful, I know you'll enjoy that a lot. 💙

@palides2021, I’d go slowly and just use whatever you have for now. Get a feel for the sun and shadows and how the sounds will carry your music. You have a great footprint to work with.
Yes, thank you, I agree with you, @Jules! I will take my time. Every day I greet the sunroom with eagerness. I have danced in it, sang, and played music. I have plenty of indoor plants that I would like to move in there.

Thanks for your interest! It is finished, and I use it every day, opening the windows. I placed plants in the room. No furniture yet. Now I've been busy preparing for classes. When things slow down, will buy furniture. Have a blessed day!😊
Good to hear from you Patti, and that you're gtowing plants in the sunroom. Take care, looking forward to you next post. :)
