If you were tired of living alone, which would you prefer, a husband/wife, or a roommate?

Would having a great pet be straying off of subject.
I have a dog who is real good a keeping me active letting him in and out and telling me of visitors in the driveway but he is not much of a conversationalist so a friendly roommate who gives hugs and cooks would be nice! Doggie licks are not quite the same, but he does clean the dishes ......

I think I'm probably too old to enjoy the special 'benefits' of having a partner, plus they might have cultural expectations of me doing cooking, cleaning, laundry etc. So I guess (assuming one's kids aren't an option), a roommate would be less annoying and judgmental.

From so many divorce stories it sounds like partners, instead of being the expected ally that has your back, are likely to become ridiculously critical and judgmental. Tho my parents were very supportive of each other through thick and thin, and my brother's third marriage (not actually legally married tho because he felt two divorces had been enough) is working out very well.

Roommates sound easier to change for different ones (unless it is a nightmare of a roommate).

Roommate. However they have to have fur and tails. I have 2.
I'm pretty furry ;)

I was perfectly happy living alone until I met Michelle. Having her around sort of highlighted what was not so perfect about living alone...like conversation and certain comforts. I married her, but if we didn't have the same unwavering live & let-live approach to life, she wouldn't even have been a room mate. We'd have just dated.

I'm not tired of living alone. I would share it with a canary though :)

I've said somewhere recently about coming out of a relationship where we didn't live together ie he had his place, me mine. It was a happy relationship, and we still have a happy relationship, just altered 'cos of circumstances.

Why not find that supper friend who dos all those questions with one answer.
.... YES .... Over an over again all you need to know is .... Yes .... U 2 with sure, ok,, YES !
Thats not a specific question to a specific belief. It's just two lovers saying yes's over and over to each other.
2 Lovers looking out for each other and saying yes's to each. What's ever a bigger answer?
