I Find the Ignore Button a Wonderful Feature of this Whole Forum

I’ve never used the ignore button, and just out of curiosity found it! Were politics allowed on the forum, I’d probably need it! We all (mostly) have our rough edges and almost everyone is someone else’s idea of a freak or monster. There’s a lot to be said, however, for the harmonious acceptance and reconciliation of opposing viewpoints. As the old saying goes, “If you don’t happen to like me, pass me by…”. ✌️

I have 23 people on ignore. I find this easier in order to get along. I only became offended once on here, and was told by the moderator if I don't like what's being said don't read it.

I took that advice because I don't need the aggravation of people giving me a hard time and then them reporting me when I give back the same. Yeah I know how it works.

Save yer "sounds like it's you that has a problem" b.s. Yeah I already know that. Just don't try to set me off, and we'll all get along fine.

Why I can't use the ignore button.

I have very few on ignore. It is because they can't leave politics alone or because they push one of my particular buttons, stirring up trouble. So button pushers or ones who like to stir up trouble do not fit in with my reason for being here.

Don't think i've used it on here 'mental ignore' works well. I have blocked people on FB, because particularly during election years there are those that get quite persistently unpleasant. Tho in recent years i've considered blocking the guys who pop up on my posts with smarmy flattery requesting i friend them, despite a warning pinned to top of my page that i will not respond to such posts.

The problem is they are clearly looking for a relationship (even if a Catfish/Mark one) and i'm NOT! Friendship yes, but those develop naturally if someone responds to posts with a relevant comment or humorous observation. Some of my male FB friends i knew from now defunct Eons. Some i met on threads created by other cyber friends because, just imagine, we actually had an interesting and/or fun exchange of ideas. You know an actual conversation?
