What could have been.
Rufus Smalt looked at the dazzling ring in his hands and felt elation.
He had bought the ring with high expectations
He walked over to the window and reflected on his dense surroundings. He had always loved the Tasmania Wilderness with its incredible Rain Forest. It was a place that encouraged his tendency to feel Passion.
Then he saw her in the distance. It was the figure of Marion Mimim. Marion was his belle with pretty legs and lips as smooth as ivory.
Rufus gulped. He glanced at his own reflection. He was affable and gregarious, surely he had a chance with Marion?
But not even an affable person such as himself was prepared for what Marion had in store today.
The Snow flurried outside, making the setting a sensational vista.
As Rufus stepped outside and Marion came closer, he could see the coy smile on her face.
Marion swooned into his arms with all the grace of a Swan.
Rufus looked at her, even more besotted and still fingering the dazzling ring. “Marion, you have proven to me you have earned this ring”
They looked at each other with electrifying feelings, like two love struck teenagers.
Rufus studied Marion’s sparkling eyes.
Eventually, Marion took a deep breath. “I’m sorry,” she said in apologetic tones, “but I don’t feel this will work, it never could. I must marry my betrothed, even if the spark has already diminished. My Father is relying on this union.”
Rufus looked heart broken, his emotions raw.
Marion could almost hear Rufus’s emotions shatter as she hurried away into the snowy distance.

Poor Rufus, dropped like a hot brick but, to be fair, it was a rubbish proposal.

Is the story going to be a tale of love lost or will Rufus win Marion's heart eventually? Rufus would be a good character as the hapless suitor.

Alas, unbeknownst to Rufus, Marion was whisked away to the happiest place on earth, the Kingdom of Bhutan.
To live out her life at the foothills of the Himalayas surrounded by traditional houses, temples and ancient fortresses.

Her husband, Prince Dasho (excellent one) Ugyen Jigme Wangchuck is the youngest son of the fourth King of Bhutan - Jigme Singye Wangchuck and his wife, Queen Mother Ashi (lady) Tshering Pem Wangchuck.

Marion will accompany the Prince, who is an active member of Desuups - an organization made up of volunteers who go to the areas affected by some cataclysm or in charity events and who wear a familiar orange uniform to be easily recognizable.
She will become a Guardian of Peace.
I hope this brings her happiness.

Please, please continue.

But what about poor Rufus? is he doomed to live a solitary existence, pining for the once swooning Marion? :(;)

I heard this, too... and this one wasn't already hitched to someone else and leading poor Rufus on. Rufus was much happier. (y)
Rufus deserves all the happiness he can get. Fancy being dumped for a bloke called Dasho! Rufus should have bopped him on the nose and called him Masho! (not that I would support violence of course but, hypothetically speaking ...) :)
