2024 - Anything Christmas Related

I'm gonna put up our Christmas tree today. I'll put the lights on it but I'll wait til Meesh gets home to decorate it. She's kind of picky about that bit, plus it can get pretty hard on my back, so we always do that part together.

I'll probly go ahead and hang the boughs over the windows, though, and change the livingroom drapes. They're various shades of tan and blue. The Christmas drapes are red and gold with a little bit of white...kind of gaudy, but with a Christmas tree sitting in front of them, it works.
 
When I was a kid, the Christmas tree was a family effort. Dad would bring it in (where it had been propped up against the garage in a pail of water), put it in the stand and then string the lights (back then they were C7). Then I'd put on the ornaments (Shiny Brites) and mom would distribute the tinsel.

When I moved, I threw out those old strings of lights (almost everyone uses the TS LED ones now) added to the fact I think they were dangerous being up in the attic for decades (the wires were stiff). I sold most of the ornaments and just kept the ones I liked the best.
