What are the best cookies to make / leave for Santa ??

I am not much of a baker. Recipes that require precise measurements are not for me. I prefer dishes that wont suffer if I add a little of this and some of that. That said, I will leave Santa some brightly decorated store-bought cookies

My son and I used to make batches of big oatmeal cookies, some with nuts or raisins. It was an excuse to hang out with him in the kitchen. He is gone now and so is the desire to make cookies.

Our Santa was very picky! It had to be homemade Tollhouse chocolate chip with a cold glass of milk poured in a glass kept in the fridge.

For Santa, I'll go along with the Tollhouse chocolate chip and a glass of milk.

Santa is probably less interested in the type of cookie than the accompanying beverage. He's under plenty of stress with last minute wrapping, filling the stockings and arranging gifts around the tree, not to mention assembling bicycles and other toys, all while being quiet enough that it didn't awaken the kids.

Milk seems like punishment for that hard labor. .

Christmas Central in my house happens to be in the same room as the liquor cabinet. Santa was welcome to help himself, and sometimes did.

Oh my, @Jace! Yes, Magic Cookie Bars, they DO taste like heaven! Recipe used to be on the label of the sweetened condensed milk.

My mother made those and a similar version topped with candied fruit, glacé cherries, nuts and coconut.
